240v 3pin charging and impact to EQC range

Hi,
Is anyone aware of the 3 pin charger impacting the range? I typically get 155-165 on a full charge. Im told this could be due to using the 3 pin charger and the range needs to be reset to bring the range back up to 230 miles. I’ve heard some say the 3 pin charger is not healthy for charging the battery long term but not that it will affect the range. Any thoughts on this will be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi @KC:, this is true. The Mercedes Benz EQC is able to be slow, fast and rapid charged from public points, depending on the network and type of charge unit. In most cases, slow charging requires a 3-pin-to-Type 2 cable, and fast charging a Type 2-to-Type 2 cable, one of which is usually supplied with the vehicle. For rapid charging, the vehicle uses a tethered CCS connector which is part of the charging unit.
Here's a good article that covers a lot of information on 3 pin charging.

Thanks for this. The property where I am using the 3pin charger is a new build and I had an electrician confirm it is fine for charging the EQC. I guess the question I am trying to answer is will charging an EQC with a 3pin charger affect the range. It’s a question which no one seems to be able to answer. Some EQC specialists have said “it shouldn’t” affect the range but it seems the evidence is not there. Would be great to hear from anyone else that’s been using the 3pin chargers

I haven't used 3 pin charging but I don't think it should affect range. The only thing I've heard about charging affecting range/battery life is if you constantly fast charge to 100%. That will do damage to the battery.
