Advanced headlight systems

Mercedes headlights have become incredibly advanced over the past few years and it looks like they are about to take another step forward. A new system which they have called Digital Light allows the projection of words directly onto the road ahead. A system like this has the potential for many safety benefits like projecting arrows and symbols to nearby pedestrians and cyclists.

My only concern is what this will mean for the cost of replacement units. I'm all for new kinds of safety systems, but replacing one of those headlamps can't be cheap.
No price on safety right guys. Sort of like it's for the children.
As we move towards car subscription services, the cost of parts will become less of a factor. I'm hoping that this system is more than just an insert in the housing, because we've seen side mirror projectors get very easily damaged by water.

As long as a good insurance plan is worked in i won't mind my vehicle be used as part of a car sharing service once fully autonomous vehicles are in full swing.
All these measures to produce more vehicles and with more ways for them to be paid, costs will go down even more.
Most subscriptions services I've seen have both maintenance and insurance rolled into the monthly fee. I do wonder whether there any sort of cap or exceptions to this, because I'm sure there are some stipulations in the fine print.
being a worry-free program the only downside I can see with these programs is limited swapping, like if there aren't enough options or opportunities to swap within a year
From what's currently on offer from BMW, Porsche etc most allow you to make a vehicle change every few months or so. The pool of vehicles you have to choose from is the main limitation, but its pretty appealing to be able to change between various new models.
Eventually these programs might come with some sort of "green" credit because owning a car when you'll drive it for 2-hours maximum a day vs. it being used almost 24-hours by multiple users does a lot to reduce our carbon footprint. Owning only makes sense if you're an enthusiast and have a real passion for cars, which is a small percent.
The ownership model of cars has needed to change for years now. With the average length of a car loan now exceeding 72 months, its no longer an economical way to go about car ownership. We need to reduce the number of vehicles that are on the road today.
