I’m booked in this week for a Battery Control Unit software update.
Can’t find any info on this, has anyone had this done?
I’m in Australia

hi
I’m really interested in this as well any update to range or maybe they fixed things like charger screen as they have in the EQA.

The update was done last week.
I haven’t noticed any difference.
Thanks for updating one of those simple software updates then not an update to add any functionality🙄 as I understand it those cars with 7.4kw on board chargers would need a hardware upgrade not software to go to the current 11kw standard.

Seems to have reduced range .... I got the car in Jan and when ambient temperature was around zero 100% charge gave circa 190 miles ... as temperature rose / mileage increased range got up to a maximum of 240 miles. went back down to 190 2 weeks ago after software update but does seem to slowly rise as I do more miles. I wouldn’t have thought this was relevant but now Max charge showing 202 miles?

It could be that the computer during the update has in effect reset the start position for the calculation of range. It takes into account the recent previous driving history to give the range and if that was set to 0 during the update it will make a difference. The important thing is what the consumption is, has that changed? When you can see your consumption and the % of battery charge you can see yourself likely range albeit if you are pootling on a roads and are then going to the motorway you need to adjust. I am waiting for my car but I will try to keep a log of suggested range v actual distance achieved to see how accurate or otherwise it is but from all the conversations I have seen it does seem that it is proving confusing.

Do you have a 3phase supply to your charger? Cause if you have, you will not notice any difference. I had a service done on my GLE hybrid and to my surprise, the charging rate dropped from 7.4 to 3.7 on my return home. First time since I bought the car last year. I have a single phase supplying my home charger btw. I raised it with MB and waiting to see what they are going to come back with ..

That's very strange. I don't have a GLE hybrid, but all the specs I can find on it here say the onboard charger can do 7.4kW with 3-phase and 3.7kW with single phase.

My guess would be they've improved the way they detect a 3-phase supply. For reasons unknown, your GLE was previously thinking it had 3-phase when it didn't and so was selecting the higher charging rate.

Do you happen to know how your EVSE is wired? One mis-guided trick is to wire the single phase supply to all 3 inputs of the EVSE. That can trick some EVs into thinking they have a 3-phase supply but it comes with fire risks. One possibility is they improved their 3-phase detection to not just look for a voltage, but to also check that they're out of phase with each other, i.e. check that it's true 3-phase rather than mock 3-phase.

I’m taking my EQC in for this software update next week. I complained that no matter the capacity of the rapid charger I might use, the car would never charge faster than 32kW. Apparently this is a known issue and the update is supposed to fix it. Does anyone know about this issue?
