Built in dash cam with software purchase

I thought I'd start a separate thread related to the dash cam.

I'm not sure if the augmented reality nav is standard but it's required for the software upgrade. We paid the $200 one-time fee to activate the app instead of paying to reinstall the 3rd party cam we had in our GLE. In the US, "automatic looping" is an option which will activate the cam when the car is turned on - a few older YT videos say it's not available in Europe so I don't know if that's been updated or if it's just a US thing. A USB memory stick is required to record and it plugs into one of the USB-C ports next to the wireless phone charger in the console. We had a 1GB stick laying around so it's there for now but it only gives 5 minutes of recording. I'd recommend more storage.

I don't believe there is any interior or rear-facing functionality unless it uses the cameras on the mirrors but I'll see if I can pull up a clip tomorrow. It does have time, date, location, and speed embedded in the video.

Does automatic looping overwrite the previous drives recording? Also, can you confirm the dashcam automatically starts when the car is turned on?

Yes, autolooping overwrites the oldest files and it also auto starts with the car (at least in the US).
