Carwash experience

Reading the manual of the EQS a chapter is especially written for the car in the carwash. The most strange remark is that the key should be left ....six meters from the car!!? That is possible in a static carwash but how it must be done in a "drag trough" washing place. But still it is a precaution I really don't understand.

What is the experience?

Thanks Ton

Perhaps to keep the handles from presenting if the driver was outside of the vehicle?
Thanks for the answer! Asking the question sometimes the answer comes by itself by re-reading the owner manual
It all has to do to prevent unintentional auto functions and I found out there is an "automatic car wash mode" (settings>>vehicle>>driving) But the 20 feet distance of the car key is still a mystery
My 450+ does not have the car wash mode. Can someone with an 450+ check if the mode is present in the settings? I like to know if it is missing. Tia
I have an EQS 580 and do not have a "carwash mode" - am I looking in the wrong place? I am currently turning off Climate Control and Parktronic, and putting the car in neutral. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
In Settings >> I am turning off all driving assistants. So far no problems

My base model EQS does not have car wash mode either. I don’t know why it was left out on some models.
After several discussion with MB technical persons that is my conclusion too....but it is an odd choice of MB!
I just bought a EQE SUV and it has carwash mode. Has to be a software update for the ones who don't have it.
