Afternoon all.

Anyone seeing this error message?

Check Low Beam Setting (left/right-side traffic) error message

Am experiencing the error message above near every start up of the car but cannot see why or how to correct.

The lights appear to be functioning well and I'm not seeing a tangible error.

Anyone know what the error means and how I might correct it and eliminate it appearing each time?

Thanks

Yes, had the same problem with my (new) AMG EQS 53. After checking the setting was correct for Australian right hand driving and still getting the warning I gave up and put it into Automatic mode! Left the decision to the car since it wasn’t prepared to accept mine…
Looked in my manual and can see no mention of this warning. Am I right in thinking that you had manually set the car to right hand driving in the vehicle menu as opposed to selecting an automatic option? If that interpretation is accurate perhaps this message is just a reminder that if you have manually set it is it still correct for perhaps those situations where you might be moving between left hand and right hand drive situations as exists here in europe with the British and mainland europe?

Nice one, thanks for the heads up Tony. You must be one of the absolutely first down under with an AMG EQS ... I read that supply for Aus was a little while behind and it was difficult enough here nearer to factory 56 :)

Will use that data if you don't mind and log it with MB-CAC. Would like to understand why.

Same here Parkwood, could see nothing. No dealership, set it all up from memory. And I would imagine for UK market. Mind it prompts a valid question that, how to set and adjust for different countries. This thing we have will be over in Europe regularly and soon. So I need fix the problem and understand how to change settings as and when.

The setting when I drove out of the dealership was already for right hand drive. I presume that this is to enable the car to target the headlights correctly! Mine seemed to have the right headlight aimed directly forward and the left headlight aimed slightly towards the left which seems correct for a vehicle travelling in the left lane(s) of a road with oncoming traffic passing by on the right. Still got the pop up warning even time I drove at night or when the lights (in Auto mode) were turned on! Letting the car make up it’s own mind made the warning ‘disappear’. I assume this mode is for the UK/Ireland/EU situation where you drive onto the ferry on one side and off on the other…
I got that same error on my EQS AMG 53 for a while "Check low beam setting". It was set correctly but then it kept thinking the setting was wrong. I think I eventually worked it out - we drive on the left so the car is expecting other vehicles to be on the right of me, but every morning when I leave home there is a row of parked cars on my left so I have to drive on the right hand side of the road for about 100 yards. So I think the "clever" technology sees those cars and sees I an on the right hand side of the road and thinks I have set it up incorrectly. (This is only speculation but it seems credible). So now I have it on automatic and I just let it do its thing.

When you say set to auto, do you mean the normal/main beam option with the 'A' in a beam box bottom LH corner of driver dash?

I've got that set and thinking about it, I think I'm seeing the same as you. Can't actually remember fully until see it tomorrow ... bit mad that. And as you say it could be because of car position. Mine is parked at an odd angle on drive to get two other cars on drive.

Interesting one. Will check that. Going to book it in anyway as there are a number of small (and less small) niggles that need some work doing.

No, you need to click home on the main screen, select settings - lights - low beam - ‘automatic’
