I wonder if someone knows a definitive answer on this - as the dealer doesn't!!
When I navigate to a charging station via the MBUX navigation does the EQS start preconditioning the battery, or not, whilst en-route?
I thought I read somewhere that the EQS doesn't precondition as there is no need due to the way the battery temperature is managed. However, I have also read that a battery really ought to be preconditioned before DC charging in order to get the temperature into the optimum range to get the best charge speed and also to avoid damaging it.
I'm beginning to think that the EQS doesn't have preconditioning - as it's the only BEV that does not appear to have a battery temperature gauge/indicator (apart from some Ioniq5s).
That might explain why the highest DC charging rate I have seen is 198kW after a 1.5hr run at 70mph with a starting SoC of 9%.
