Good question! I do not know the answer and have never seen this discussed online. It will be interesting if anybody knows!

I see you have the current winter "graphic goodies". Ours arrived a couple of days ago and they were accompanied by a couple of bizarre MBUX error messages having to do with auto brake assist unavailable and parking assist unavailable. Restarted the car and everything was normal again...and has been normal ever since. Could simply be coincidence - but I have read numerous times about bizarre MBUX messages occurring in conjunction with the arrival of graphic goodies.

 

I guess you could try exporting it and have a look inside. Looks to be an lz4 compressed tarfile with a timestamp built into the filename. Did anything particularly interesting happen at 15:44:48 on 19/12/2024?
