Hi, I have a Mercedes EQC 400 and a couple of days ago went to a drive-in cinema. It was frustrating to watch because for some weird reason the audio was delayed like half a second. Other cars were fine. It was simply tuned in to a FM frequency via the in-car system.

Why would this happen and is there anyway to get around it?

Something of a specialist topic I had no idea not living in a country where drive in movies are a thing this was how the sound was transmitted😉

I have heard of this happening in a Kenwood unit once. I guess - try different settings for example turning "frequency fix" on or off in radio settings, or if you have Burmeister than try disable "surround sound" or bass boost etc which might speed up sound processing. Also check you are on the exact best frequency else perhaps more sound processing might be happening to reduce distortion. Also report back if Mercedes Me app support answers satisfactorily as they should know much better than me, because they can contact the sound engineer specialists as Parkwood says

Hi,
I had exactly the same problem last year in my 2019 e class - now replaced with an EQC.
I think it’s the frequency fix. Both the previous and current cars do it. I notice it mostly in the morning when I set off and the radio repeats a couple of seconds of music, which is fine under any normal circumstances, but definitely not at a drive through when your sound is 2 seconds behind the picture. Worst film ever 😂
