Whats been the waiting time for UK members for the EQA AMG Line Premium Plus model...?
I was expecting mine at the end of May, current expectation is end of October, but every time I get close to a potential delivery date it gets pushed back a month. I understand the car is built but waiting on microchips and non one can give me a firm indication if it will arrive in October. So getting very frustrated with the inability of Mercedes to give a firm date, you would expect them to have a better handle on their supply chain by now.

Mine was due this month, no build date allocated so I cancelled my order and opted for an I40 M50 I have another car so I wasn’t tied to an open ended wait and my experience with the local dealership has put me off this brand for a longtime…shame as I did like the car for the hour they let me drive it back in March…I surprised though by the lack of others cancelling and taking there business elsewhere…the experience I have had with BMW is unrecognisable…Mercedes seem to be doing everything right to destroy their brand right now and having wasted 5 months during which time they never once proactively contacted me… I have no problem letting others know my experience.

Thanks Solly. The internet says that ALL car manufacturers are being criticised because the microchips shortage is worldwide… My EQC isn’t a company car, so I was lucky. I bought a used EQC, because like other Forum members, the waiting period for a new MB is not acceptable…

Yes, Mercedes contact with you, sounds to have been bad. They, like ALL other car manufacturers, are no doubt finding it difficult to communicate ‘bad things to their customers’… I have cancelled my order for the new BMW iX3, and have received my deposit back. I am waiting to hear from Mercedes Truro when they think an order for an EQA AMG Line Premium Plus 350 4MATIC will arrive. The EQC is a little too big for my current needs… I have just bought a BMW M4 Convertible. This will help keep my mind off waiting for the EQA to arrive… Having watched several YouTube reviews of the EQA, and having owned several electric cars. I think it will be a good replacement to my EQC…

Have been over onto the mainly american mbworld.org site and there is along thread there on del times for the e class just as badly affected as all mb cars. Seems that after build in the sindlefingen plant they are taken to Bremen and parked up waiting for whatever various chips are missing in one case an owner said it was for the door control unit……
MB are competing with every other manufacturer for semi conductors as are their suppliers and they are all reliant on the semi conductor manufacturers keeping to their word and production schedules and for the supply chain to be working which is as we all know is also seriously disrupted. Frankly any of us ordering cars now cannot expect the sort of delivery times we are used to nor for any manufacturer to be able to guarantee a delivery date or full spec unless the car is already built and released to be in stock somewhere.
Communications of the issue are down the to the dealerships or lease companies who have the end customer relationship and mine are good. So many dealerships in the UK seem bad yet there is a chap on you tube from a dealership in the south west who seems a shining example of a good salesman who knows his product well and is probably well versed in customer care. It is not just an MB issue for every satisfied customer of any brand you will find one who is not in part I think because so many of the salespeople are so badly trained and or controlled with just sales the focus not proper customer care. I am aware the reputation of Hyundai dealers in some quarters is dreadful for example but i bet you there are other people totally satisfied.
I understand the frustration this is causing we are all so used to getting what we want when we want we have lost the ability to be patient and accept that is not always possible. But managing expectations should be partof the dealer skillset and maybe some in the industry need to think about training up on the skills. My dealership did so very effectively but we have a different mindset here long term relationships and customer loyalty are highly valued on both sides an old fashioned viewpoint in some way and one that is no doubt changing in the larger towns but us rural folk a a bit stuck in our ways perhaps😉

I have been reading your interesting Discussions Created… I agree with your salient points in this one…
I don’t know if you can mention any dealer on the Forum…?
I live in Cornwall and have bought my last seven cars from Edinburgh. The dealer Eastern Western is a family owned company since 1927, and their sales people are better trained, and disciplined, than many of the other companies I have dealt with, including local ones. I hate dealing with sales people that only want a quick deal…! I drive little because of an accident I had, but change my cars often… I normally buy used cars, but I will be ordering a new EQA 350 4MATIC AMG Line Premium Plus, from my local MB dealer, irrespective of when I am told it might arrive…. And I will wait for it to eventually arrive…
Which South West dealership YouTuber are you mentioning…?

Here is a link to the you tube channel I referred to. I assume the guy works for the mercedes dealership he may not but he credits them for goving him access to the cars. He is certainly very knowledgeable and the videos he makes very good.
If you use apps etc I would really recommend you have a look at the mercedes benz eco app I have found it very useful in advising re battery care and efficiency. Not sure if you have to have a mercedes me account with a car attached to be able to access it or not though.

Mine will be updated as and when the part is available. The camera is in situ so it is just the controlling bit. I signed a document to the effect the car was being delivered without and would be upgraded at a future date. Did you not get the same sort of promise?

Yes, I agree... Nick OLeary's youtube channel is well worth viewing, he does seem very knowledgable...

The frustration I have is not just the waiting but that we are not going to get what we originally ordered. We ordered the EQC AMG line Prem back in June and it now won't come with the stereo or the wireless charging, and I am expecting it not to have the chips for the AR in the Sat Nav or the LTE chip.
Mercedes have not communicated and the lease company have basically said take it or leave.

Hi all,

I am new to this, just joined now and having same issues.

I ordered mine in April via lease company and the date keeps being pushed back. Latest is end of this month.

I called the dealership where the car is being delivered and they told me it was good news in that the car had been built however they couldn't tell me when it will be delivered or if its waiting for any parts.

I checked with the leasing company if they knew of cars arriving without the semiconductor chips and they said not to their knowledge - which sounds promising.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Ordered the AMG Premium Plus in black, seriously couldn't come soon enough!

Cheers

NP

I spoke to my local MB dealer earlier this morning to ask how long the waiting period is for an AMG Line 350 4MATIC Premium Plus… He said he needed to speak to MB… The chips problem is worldwide with every car manufacturer. No car manufacturers are better than others… They all have the same problem with waiting for chips…
I am still waiting to hear back from my MB dealer…
I will be placing an order, whatever date he gives me for delivery… And I fully expect the EQA to arrive and possibly need some chips etc at a later date…
I think we all need to accept that it's not MB’s fault. It’s the Pandemic, and companies in China that make the chips…!
I have just received this email from my Local MB Dealer…

Hi Mr Williams,

Thank you again for your EQA enquiry, it was lovely to speak to you again this morning.

According to our handling site, we should see an EQA 350 Premium with Driving Assistance Package from December or January if we place an order now.

The specification appears to have changed however, with the Premium Plus Package being removed and the Premium Package having become more comprehensive.

Please see the updated brochure attached.

Please let me know what you think.

Kind regards,

It looks like the brochure has changed because of the chips problems…?

So from old PDF before June which i kept you will NOT have availability of larger 20's AMG wheels, HUD, 360 All round camera detection, Burmeister Surround System in metallic finish... rather than black plastic covering, Front and Passenger Electric seats.. maybe also opening the rear tail gate by your foot motion under the bumper and gesture control towards the infotainment screen; menus open up as soon as your hand is close enough. for near enough the same price... !!!! Dick Turpin comes to mind; personally would wait until the New Year... Service Maintenance Pack is £22 per month.... so far email from Merc UK with complimentary 3 year pack after i have taken 4 year contract... lol for my inconvenience of buying a Mercedes at my peril lol to be fixed at a later date or never.... this will probably be my last Mercedes ordering from new, next time what is at the Dealership or online mercedes site.

For info my car at pickup from Dealership was 230 miles for 100% charge, after some driving mileage over 500 and couple of fast charges and multiple 1.4kW and 7kW today the range shows 250 miles with the Mercedes Me App at 86% charge before next charge.... going up nicely.... will it get to the magic WLTP of 263 max output in the future.
Merc Specialist in Harrow to for parallel parking (deactivated) and ACC.... looks interesting...

Am shocked to see the Burmester option is no longer on the french site for the EQC either. Wonder if the mercedes advanced sound system is the replacement? seems good to me I would order if it is the car you want. MBUX is also missing on the EQC in france too and have to say the glass sun roof is rather dated in comparison to the EQA.

Not blaming them for the shortage of chips but I am disappointed at them changing the spec from what I ordered and not telling me. Then basically telling me that my option is take it or leave it. I don’t think owning the situation and communicating to their customers is too much to ask

I concur….All manufacturers maybe facing shortages however having cancelled my EQC order I have just ordered I4 M50 BMW will Tech Plus without any issue, so while MB may state others have issues others are not removing options which cost 000’s and offering little in return…cancel if you can I doubt you’ll wait any longer on another car….and it it takes a few more weeks at least it will be complete.
