Whats been the waiting time for UK members for the EQA AMG Line Premium Plus model...?
I was expecting mine at the end of May, current expectation is end of October, but every time I get close to a potential delivery date it gets pushed back a month. I understand the car is built but waiting on microchips and non one can give me a firm indication if it will arrive in October. So getting very frustrated with the inability of Mercedes to give a firm date, you would expect them to have a better handle on their supply chain by now.Whats been the waiting time for UK members for the EQA AMG Line Premium Plus model...?
I should have said EQC sorry misread your postI was expecting mine at the end of May, current expectation is end of October, but every time I get close to a potential delivery date it gets pushed back a month. Mine was due this month, no build date allocated so I cancelled my order and opted for an I40 M50 I have another car so I wasn’t tied to an open ended wait and my experience with the local dealership has put me off this brand for a longtime…shame as I did like the car for the hour they let me drive it back in March…I surprised though by the lack of others cancelling and taking there business elsewhere…the experience I have had with BMW is unrecognisable…Mercedes seem to be doing everything right to destroy their brand right now and having wasted 5 months during which time they never once proactively contacted me… I have no problem letting others know my experience.I should have said EQC sorry misread your post
Thanks Solly. The internet says that ALL car manufacturers are being criticised because the microchips shortage is worldwide… My EQC isn’t a company car, so I was lucky. I bought a used EQC, because like other Forum members, the waiting period for a new MB is not acceptable…I should have said EQC sorry misread your post
Yes, Mercedes contact with you, sounds to have been bad. They, like ALL other car manufacturers, are no doubt finding it difficult to communicate ‘bad things to their customers’… I have cancelled my order for the new BMW iX3, and have received my deposit back. I am waiting to hear from Mercedes Truro when they think an order for an EQA AMG Line Premium Plus 350 4MATIC will arrive. The EQC is a little too big for my current needs… I have just bought a BMW M4 Convertible. This will help keep my mind off waiting for the EQA to arrive… Having watched several YouTube reviews of the EQA, and having owned several electric cars. I think it will be a good replacement to my EQC…Mine was due this month, no build date allocated so I cancelled my order and opted for an I40 M50 I have another car so I wasn’t tied to an open ended wait and my experience with the local dealership has put me off this brand for a longtime…shame as I did like the car for the hour they let me drive it back in March…I surprised though by the lack of others cancelling and taking there business elsewhere…the experience I have had with BMW is unrecognisable…Mercedes seem to be doing everything right to destroy their brand right now and having wasted 5 months during which time they never once proactively contacted me… I have no problem letting others know my experience.
I have been reading your interesting Discussions Created… I agree with your salient points in this one…Have been over onto the mainly american mbworld.org site and there is along thread there on del times for the e class just as badly affected as all mb cars. Seems that after build in the sindlefingen plant they are taken to Bremen and parked up waiting for whatever various chips are missing in one case an owner said it was for the door control unit……
MB are competing with every other manufacturer for semi conductors as are their suppliers and they are all reliant on the semi conductor manufacturers keeping to their word and production schedules and for the supply chain to be working which is as we all know is also seriously disrupted. Frankly any of us ordering cars now cannot expect the sort of delivery times we are used to nor for any manufacturer to be able to guarantee a delivery date or full spec unless the car is already built and released to be in stock somewhere.
Communications of the issue are down the to the dealerships or lease companies who have the end customer relationship and mine are good. So many dealerships in the UK seem bad yet there is a chap on you tube from a dealership in the south west who seems a shining example of a good salesman who knows his product well and is probably well versed in customer care. It is not just an MB issue for every satisfied customer of any brand you will find one who is not in part I think because so many of the salespeople are so badly trained and or controlled with just sales the focus not proper customer care. I am aware the reputation of Hyundai dealers in some quarters is dreadful for example but i bet you there are other people totally satisfied.
I understand the frustration this is causing we are all so used to getting what we want when we want we have lost the ability to be patient and accept that is not always possible. But managing expectations should be partof the dealer skillset and maybe some in the industry need to think about training up on the skills. My dealership did so very effectively but we have a different mindset here long term relationships and customer loyalty are highly valued on both sides an old fashioned viewpoint in some way and one that is no doubt changing in the larger towns but us rural folk a a bit stuck in our ways perhaps😉
Mine will be updated as and when the part is available. The camera is in situ so it is just the controlling bit. I signed a document to the effect the car was being delivered without and would be upgraded at a future date. Did you not get the same sort of promise? My EQA Prem Plus was ordered 1st week June, delayed by 3 weeks delivery was 17th August, missing Augmented Reality navigation...
Yes, I agree... Nick OLeary's youtube channel is well worth viewing, he does seem very knowledgable...Here is a link to the you tube channel I referred to. I assume the guy works for the mercedes dealership he may not but he credits them for goving him access to the cars. He is certainly very knowledgeable and the videos he makes very good.
If you use apps etc I would really recommend you have a look at the mercedes benz eco app I have found it very useful in advising re battery care and efficiency. Not sure if you have to have a mercedes me account with a car attached to be able to access it or not though.
I concur….All manufacturers maybe facing shortages however having cancelled my EQC order I have just ordered I4 M50 BMW will Tech Plus without any issue, so while MB may state others have issues others are not removing options which cost 000’s and offering little in return…cancel if you can I doubt you’ll wait any longer on another car….and it it takes a few more weeks at least it will be complete. Not blaming them for the shortage of chips but I am disappointed at them changing the spec from what I ordered and not telling me. Then basically telling me that my option is take it or leave it. I don’t think owning the situation and communicating to their customers is too much to ask
