Today I used the satnav in my EQA for the first time. I firstly entered the address by typing it into the touchscreen. Unfortunately, the same street name is used in various suburbs and despite typing the correct address, the satnav was hell-bent on directing me to the wrong address.

I tried the voice function, without any change.

The address was in an old part of the city, so it's not as if it was a new development (which mapping might not have caught up with).

Does anyone have any suggestions? (I don't actually find the map display very clear; perhaps I need to reconfigure it somehow - although that should have nothing to do with an inability to locate an address.)

When you type in an address that has the same street name in more than one area you should get a list appearing to let you choose which one you want.

Thanks, FDR. I need to spend more time on the satnav.

This morning, I again re-entered the destination I was looking for yesterday. Again, after the property number and street name, it showed our capital city name instead of the suburb; however, this time it did show the correct destination location. Yesterday, it was taking me in entirely the wrong direction - to another street with the same name.

Hey
My apologies for a "late" reply, but as I have just registered and will receive my EQA in April -23 (fingers crossed), I have not been on this forum until now.
Just a tip that might be of help:
Nick O'Leary have a set of vids on youtube. The one I have linked to explores using the what3words app/system to pinpoint exactly where you want to go.

Haven't tested this myself obviously, but will look into it later this year.
