EQB300 issue with setting charging current

I'd check the settings of the charger itself rather than the car. I suspect you should be able to control maximum current in a more nuanced manner from the charger itself rather then the car. Some are set by switches on the charger and others via menu options or even wirelessly via a website or app.
 
Looked it up. Looks like it's fixed at 32A with 240VAC as you wrote. I guess your only option is to reduce on car side. Are you sure you set the limit for the charging program selected? Honestly, I think you will find 8A very limiting so would recommend consider a better wall charger that can better limit charging current... Or find another simple wall charger that is limited to 15-24A at 240VAC and compatible with your outlet.
