Hello!

I had a 2018 Nissan Leaf that was generating a low whistle at slow speed for pedestrians.
I even had a button to disable it.

My July 2021 produced EQC is quiet as a cat and it seems there is NO generated sound at slow speeds.

It's normal or my speaker is busted?

Since July 2019, all electric and hybrid cars will have to emit low-speed sound, for the safety of pedestrians and cyclists in urban areas. A continuous sound should be emitted below 12 mph. A sound with a minimum intensity of 56 dB. Each manufacturer will be free to add a personal touch as long as the above criteria are met.

You likely don't hear it inside the cabin compared to Leaf. Even outside the cabin it is sometimes not heard especially by other cars. You could get someone else to drive by you under 20kph to check

I can hear the reversing bleep from inside but not the forward noise which even when you are outside the car is not that loud. It is a funny whooshing sort of sound slightly hidden byt the sound of the tyres on the tarmac or gravel I feel, but in effect the car is not silent as it pulls away just for that reason.

Agreed EQC is so quiet especially when parking. The run quiet tyres make it worse. I tend to open the window with music. The sound system is amazing and much better than even the B&O systems they had in audi's.
