Hi
Was curious about how the car would behave in circa 40 degrees. So what follows is a little blog.
We drove across via the tunnel to Calais then up to North Holland with a pit stop to recharge in there.
Well, the trip was a dream, from the eqc aspect. Eurotunnel a whole different answer😤
The trip to Folkestone was mainly in the early thirties, must say the air con is just the best we have had in any car.
I had spotted that we can now use the Tesla chargers there. 64kw worked for me. .60p per kW, so more expensive than IONITY if you have the discount, but cheaper if not. But big gain was that I was waiting to board past the check in.
So… a 12:50 departure turned into a 14:06 departure.
The little button on the car to keep the air con going worked a treat. We even kept it going whilst on the train. It reduced the power level by about 4% over the 2 1/2 hours we were in the car.
Once on the other side, temperature was in the mid thirties.
A about 300 miles and it did 2.6 miles per kw
The car was loaded with luggage, Two adults and two bikes on the back. Normal speed limits used
Charging it up at the house we are staying at via a plug to their house socket. I know it's slow, but it gets there. Normally it does 2.1kw, but in the heat of today it dropped to 1.5kw. Temperature was 38. As it(slowly) gets colder, it is now back up to 2.1.
Sort of wondered what would happen if I was on a supercharger in this heat. Previous car was a Tesla, and its fan used to go like the blazes when charging. Saw this in the Eurotunnel on the way across. EQC quite as anything, the teslas roaring away
