EQS 580 SUV Apple CarPlay not working

We picked up our EQE SUV 350+ yesterday and CarPlay connected wirelessly and worked every time. Today after being in the store for about 15 minutes CarPlay did not automatically connect and the little white icon for it did not appear in the upper left corner of the MBUX. I got home, turned off car, came inside to drop off groceries, and got back in the car and CarPlay was again working. Concerned this might be a bug.

Happens to me all the time. Today I had a picture of a pyramid with a rainbow on the dash.
