Hello! I bought my EQS on 3/1, and have been to a Electrify America charger next my business 3 times now, the first time I just plugged in and it started charging, the last 2 times it says insert a card or payment… the dealer keeps saying it comes with 2 years free charging for the first 30 mins?.

Hi EQE driver here, I noticed this issue last evening. This is likely due to 2 separate issues.

1. Non-active data connection: my EQE lost data connection the day before without any rhyme or reason if this happens you won't have satellite view on maps, and plug and the charge doesn't work. You'd need to your MB me charge NFC tag.

2. EA charger/ dispenser's plug and charge software service has crashed. This means you have data in-car and but after plugging in you see the payment screen on EA. You'll need to select the station location on the screen and then select the station number on the horizontal scroll (don't expect the station numbers to be in sequential order and go by full station number and not just be 01 or 02. Alternatively, you can ask EA to refresh the charger to see if the Plug and Charge service to restart (be unplugged for this part, and issue common with BTC units even the newer ones)

both cases have equal chances of being valid,

Common problem. You actually have to activate from the vehicle touch screen. Next time you have the issue call EA and they will walk you through it. It’s tricky and a bit complicated.

this is correct. just call EA's customer service and they will set it up for you. which one did you buy 450 or 580 ?

I had this problem for months and actually had a ticket open with Mercedes Me. They need to know that the S/W coming out isnt very stable. After setup the customer service rep at electrify america and manually start the charge. They will just need your vin. Just makes the 30 min charge now 45 min if someone quickly answers at EA.
