The user profile is either selected by fingerprint or face recognition. I think this is more convenient than the key fob. If you have more than two drivers.
I would agree if I could get the additional profile to be added!! a very clumsy situay
Is useful stuff Nick, a few folks have this issue including us. Again you would think this could be made a SW mod and easy access option with minimal cost/time. But until then it's a good solution for sure.

Also building on Nicksters early post, make a software modification to option on/off the purchased automatic dashcam recording system with additional storage. Current default is 'off'

It's painful having to option this on each time used. Again surely a relatively cheap/time effective modification that could be made relatively quickly.
I'd like to see simulatenous recording of all the cameras in the vehicle with the dashcam instead of just the front camera. Many accidents happen from the side or rear of the vehicle.

I need to raise the suspension every day when I arrive at work to get over a ridge into my car park. On my old S500 coupe there was a physical button to do so. On my EQS you can do the same but it is a virtual button. I have set my raising up to work on GPS so that everytime I go back to a place that needs it the button pops onto the screen

If you go to Vehicle / Settings you can then turn on "GPS-based raising"

Then if you press the button with the picture of the car and then choose functions one of the options is "Raise vehicle level"

Then if you have turned on GPS based raising it will just bring the button up automatically ever time you get to that spot.

It works perfectly in my car

(Apologies if I haven't got the terms exactly correct but I am doing this from memory!)
this doesn't work this way in my EQS 580. it asks every time

what i would really like MB to do is to have a "configurable" Favourites page(s) where the individual user can add or delete car functions as one likes. Something like the Favourites call list on an iPhone. Since the dark is a computer with a display, surely it is just a matter of simple programming on the part of MB to make is a drag and drop feature. In this day and age of technology, these kind of features are a MUST and not a luxury. navigating the current menus in the car are anything but easy. it is a PITA.

I would like to see the turn signal indictor arrows at the top edge of the cockpit screen moved to the bottom edge of the screen. In current location, they are often obscured by the steering wheel. My wife usually reminds me to turn off the indicator lights which are easily seen from the front passenger seat.

100% agree that. Unless you remember to cancel, you cannot see them in action.

I get an increasing amount of camera error messages.

The workshop says it's due to condensation and basically weather and temperature related. I tend to believe this and indeed it's been worse the last month or so. And yet I'm also wondering if that's enough of an explanation.

Anyone else seeing this? Anyone from cold, wet and miserable places .... most likely in North Europe :)

My stoplight function gave up about 4 mts ago and they have tried to fix it 3 times with no success. Once a month it suddenly works.

You had a bad run of failures of one sort or another Robert.

I had no failures or replacements as such .... yet. Some software upgrades for sure which have been irritating but in fairness resolved first time. And some setting understanding issues for sure. Think I still have some of those which I've not got the grips with or tried yet.

Even the 12v error messages have not (yet) resulted in any physical HW replacement issues.

Just out of curiosity, what mileage have you put in over what time?

It's now on 15700km since June.

Now it has a temp issue with the door handles. If it's parked in the sun they get jammed and do not pop out. :(

They think my new EQS will arrive in end of June. It's a 2023 model and production so I hope it's better built.

That's a bad do Robert. But with a bit of luck your replacement might have the 2023 improvements on it. Might work out better in the mid term. You definitely had a bad one first pass. Shouldn't happen but could work out .... seems like they owe you.

Two suggestions related to creep and regen.

Allow a third mode in addition to "creep and "no creep". Maybe call it "coast". This should have no creep when releasing brake from standstill, but also no physical brakes applied while slowing to a stop (the separate "hold" feature, which applies physical brakes on a hill after stop, is fine, keep that). The "creep" mode in this car is way too over-eager and annoying to use when stopped (you have to slam the brakes just to keep still), but turning creep off doesn't help because it applies the physical brake calipers when slowing to zero mph which is just about the most annoying thing ever.

Allow the option for no regeneration braking when releasing the throttle, i.e. regen only starts when depressing the brake pedal. I prefer this because it allows the car to coast on throttle release, which is what I want from a large luxury car. Makes it feel more like a Rolls and less like a Corolla.

I have a few suggestions for Mercedes as well.
1. Soft close doors. I have had this feature on three of my prior Mercedes,S500, CL550 and CLS450. I’m not sure why this was not an option on a “S” class model.

2. automatic door opener. Like previous poster’s have stated, this feature is in BMW and I don’t know why Mercedes hasn’t offered this feature in the states. I was informed that this feature IS available in Europe but not yet in the states! I think this was extremely short sighted of Mercedes to not offer this feature to ALL of its consumers upon its release.

3. Return to DESIGNO interior. The new version of the upgraded interior is garbage and very cheaply appointed. The MANUFATUR leather and appearance is quite cheaply done. It’s so bad that this is the first vehicle I opted to skip upgrading my interior. The finishes under the new manufacturer is not what the consumers have come to expect from Mercedes. The”upgraded” leather looks low quality, quilted stitching is not uniform, piping is a plastic looking white material, and most noticeable is that the perforated leather that is required in the front seats for ventilation is not carried over to the rear seating as with the DESIGNO interiors. It cheapens the overall appearance of the interior when the seating surfaces are not uniform. Do better Mercedes!!

3. offer hyper-screen on ALL models. It’s ludicrous that this option is not offered on all models! You have to select the 580 model to get this option, but that model gets less mileage per charge. I have the 4matic model and chose it solely due to the better mileage but unfortunately the hyper-screen is not an option!

4. Sunglass/ glasses compartment. I have noticed that many models of Mercedes have done away with this feature, bring it back! As a person that wears prescription glasses for driving, it’s annoying that there is no place to safely store them. Yes one could say put them in that massive dark hole of a console but I prefer the ease of access of that flip down compartment. It’s more accessible.

5. console organizer. The center console on the EQS SUV is quite deep but it has no way to organize your contents so everything gets jumbled together. A tray should be included so that your phone, glasses ( since the glass compartment was removed), or other small items can be easily accessed.

6. ability to vent sunroof with shade screen closed. I love the concept of the panoramic roof but not the inability to have sun protection when you want to tilt it for ventilation. I love keeping my sunroof tilted for ventilation, it’s great for windy days, on the highway and at night for safety. This option is impaired since the sunscreen has to be fully retracted in any open mode. Sometimes I would like to use the tilt feature during the day but opt not to because the sun is directly overhead and I won’t have any way to shield the rays.

7. Better hands free sensor! The sensor is horrible and very difficult to locate. Please make a easier to use sensor otherwise this feature is useless!
