EQV ZERO TOWING CAPACITY

despite MB claims that you can tow over 850kg we have just been told that the EQV has 0000 towing capacity. Fitting a tow bar will invalidate the battery warranty. See link below.

feeling missold. All we want to do is add a bike rack.

That particular dealer's answers do not match with Mercedes UK EQV official brochure and configurator which make no mention of towing capacity, possibly due to range loss from aerodynamics. Some aftermarket companies do offer a hitch though -

.. however if warranty is explicitly affected then personally I would consult with a specialist legal expert and a consumer advice body especially if you bought from that particular dealer and towing is essential plus if you won't have room in the van.
Thanks Dar. We were going to buy from this dealer but managed to get a better deal at our local branch. We are going to report it to the motor ombudsman as Mercedes are reluctant to do anything about it or admit any liability.

I would be grateful if you could post your findings here please.
I have contact MB UK for clarification on towing capacity but am yet to receive a response. 850 kg is pathetic but I understand the increase in drag considerably reducing range.
I spoke to mb uk who conferred with their technical department whilst I was on hold. They advised the towing capacity is 2000 kg or 2500kg with a tow pack from them…

Can you pass me the details as MB customer service are telling me you can’t?

UK ombudsman have concluded that as I bought the car from another MB dealer I have no case. MB Uk customer support have reiterated that they do not represent the dealerships and viceversa. Crazy. Their website has now been amended so won’t affect future customers. No good for me and the fact you can’t add a tow bar or bike rack will put a lot customers off IMO.
