I picked up my EQS 450+ last week, and I can without reservation say that the first 1000 miles on the highway have been a pure joy. I debated a lot between 450+ and 580 and in the end decided that the additional G forces does not offer anything for my daily commute or highway driving. So far, I am pleased with my decision. It is a great car and I like going to the dealership and meeting real people trying to help you. My recommendation would be to add a software engineer to the Mercedes service staff to have "geeky" discussions with some of us who would benefit from it. Overall, I am elated with my purchase.

I enjoyed my 450+ so much that I regretted not buying a 580. So I traded for a 580 with my dealer. He had one with 1500 miles which a customer had traded for an AMG model. I got it extremely well equipped for $118,000 which is an unbelievable price and I couldn't be happier. First of all, the hyper screen is amazing. Second, coming off three Tesla Model Ss, I found the 450+ very sluggish. The 580 is dramatically quicker, which is extremely useful in heavy traffic.

Thank you. I can see why you would miss the stop and go acceleration. Most/if not all my driving is highway and I find the 450 to have enough (and more) acceleration to pass on the highway. I was considering buying a Tesla Y, and in the last minute decided to test drive the EQS. While 580 clearly offers more, I have (not yet) regretted the decision to go with the 450.
