Hi everyone,
Got my eqc on Christmas eve and been struggling with the mileage since (hence finding this forum).

The cold definitely seems to be the issue as it’s telling me that I’ll get 170 miles on a full charge and that’s been when the temp is around 2-4 degrees. Then the other day it warmed to 5-7 degrees and then mileage jumped to 208!
Really disappointed but seems many of you are in the same boat.
I called local dealer who said they would inspect the battery but they’ve spoken with other ev manufacturers and have been told the cold will impact mileage.
So there you have it! I’m waiting for my wall charger to be installed as the 3 pin is killing me! I’ve taken it to a couple of charge stations but my luck has been hit and miss. Not sure how much I trust the reliability.
many hints tips on eqc ownership would be very much welcomed.

Welcome to the forum @Gus. Original range estimates set expectations way too high. From what I found out, real world EQC range is around 180-195 miles on average. So your regular range and cold range drop is about right. Aside from that, how do you like the rest of your EQC?

Thanks for the response. That’s really good to know.
I love the car to be honest.I went for the amg plus and really enjoying the spec. I’ve been playing with the regen modes and not sure whether I prefer auto or d- - I quite like the one pedal drivingand the idea that the regen is adding to mileage (not sure it does much).
Hey Mercedes seems to work well and I really like the pre-climate function, especially in this weather!
As I mentioned, I think once the wall charger is installed and I can move away from the 3 pin life will be easier.

Welcome @Gus! Like any car (gas or electric) the range won't do as well in the cold compared to the summer. Which wall charger are you planning on getting for your garage?

I think the range thing is definitely something I wasn’t aware of but I don’t do huge miles so it’s just about topping up regularly.
I’ve got a free charger offer with Mercedes. It’s being installed by BP Pulse. Think it’s basic but still 7.5kw. Should be installed next Thursday!

Pretty similar experience. Superb car all-round - must be pretty much the quietest most relaxing driving experience on the road. And usefully sized , beautifully equipped and rip-roaringly quick (at least in a straight line!) The tech works brilliantly - especially how well MBUX and Android now complement each other and integrate (my last car integrated Android clunkily).

To be honest, I think the range estimates are best ignored a lot of the time. If you need to do a long journey, it will comfortably do as long as you would safely want to do between coffees. And it can charge really fast. This isn't the vehicle for the Stuart Highway, but hopefully people have worked that out already!

To the extent it matters I find the efficiency very low on short cold city trips, with loads of speed humps, dodging mopeds, and multiple junctions. Maybe as low as 1.5 km per kWh. But take it out on the motorway and you can cruise at maybe four times that level of efficiency. Curious thing to observe. But in the end it doesn't really matter - unless you're really (literally) penny pinching on the cost of kilowatt-hours!

I would say there is an issue there. After completing the online application and sending pictures I got a date through the following day which was for 3 weeks time. It was installed last week. Their phones are staffed but it took me 45 mins - 1 hr to get through.

Yep I’ve had my EQC through this winter and mileage dropped significantly in snow / icy conditions but as soon as it got above 6 degrees my range came back to 200miles - I wasn’t expecting such a drop but will know for next winter.
