When I bought my Mercedes hybrid it included a 'free' home charge point from BP Pulse, the partner of choice for Mercedes. There is a long story about how long it took BP Pulse to install my home charge point however, now that it has been installed I had hoped to use it effectively for overnight charging as I am on an Octopus Go tariff.
However some 9 weeks after my home charging unit from BP Pulse was installed it will still not allow scheduling or overnight charging. No matter what I do with the app (for which there are no instructions anywhere) this SMART charger acts like a DUMB charger - it just charges when you plug the car in regardless. Numerous emails back and forth to BP Pulse to no avail. I see numerous threads here from owners with the same issue and the same appalling experience with BP Pulse in trying to resolve issues.
The 1st of July 2022 saw the introduction of the latest 'Smart Charge Points Regulations' where by law all smart chargers must; incorporate pre-set, off peak, default charging hours and allow the owner to accept, remove or change these upon first use and subsequently allow for a randomised delay function.
I wonder how BP Pulse will fare against this now legal obligation for their SMART chargers to be SMART!!?
