By time this comes out we should be able to buy it and any other MB's online unless its a special product that requires more of an in person buying experience. As for test drives, I know some dealers get them well before order books open so maybe getting yourself on a contact list for that demo will be a good first step

I've been trying to get some production info being that I plan on going EQ and replacing my 2017 C300. This site seems to focus on a fall of 2018 production start. I assume it will be the GLC EQ which is the electric model.

Also MBUSA has a lot of info on the vehicle now.

I need to update my experience with Mercedes pertaining to purchasing an all electric Mercedes. I was at my dealer of choice this morning for a Nav update and discussed my excitement for a EQC. I was flat out told the vehicle will not be sold outside of California. I could not get a positive answer. They are not set up to work on an electric vehicle or hybred and no info if they will. Something doesn't add up. If this is the case who is California to rate this? Is Governor Brown going to buy everyone a vehicle? This is not the first dealer in Arizona to make this statement. If true I might as well unsubscribe and move on.

Well I can almost guarantee that the EQC will not be locked to California, although that may be one of the first places that sees delivery of them. And they are claiming this because the dealership isn't equipped properly to work on electric vehicles? I mean all they really require is being plugged in to a computer for diagnostics.

Quinn I agree with you totally. My post was mainly to show the mentality of sales staff. If electric was limited to their ability, what are they going to do with the new straight six with the 48 Volt system also known as the 53. It gets frustrating following the electric technology when Mercedes is so silent.

Yeah for sure. With such bold milestones for the electric segment, you'd think that Mercedes would be more forthcoming with their plans. I can't even tell you how excited I was when I heard that was a EQ being shown at Geneva...and then they brought the Fortwo onto the stage..

You guys think that certain models will be limited to dealers?

Not always do car makers launch special models like this without some control over distribution in proportion to projected demand. I know for sure Project One will, but not sure about lower tier EQ products.
