Hi All

I've taken delivery of my EQS 450+ Exclusive Luxury and when I went to try the energizing comfort option in the comfort menu it's not there.

If you're not familiar with it, the option shows forest or waves on the screen and plays surround sounds soothing music and turns on seat massage and fragrance. Looks great for stopping on a long trip.

Mercedes tell me it is only available on the EQS53, which was not available in the UK when I ordered it.

Is there any way to activate it on my car?

It has all the hardware required, so it seems like it's just a software install.

Thanks

Simon

The Mercedes UK EQS webpage shows bright white text with features including COMFORT PROGRAMMES and ENEGIZING COACH (to notify driver of need for a comfort programme) for Exclusive Luxury option, then in greyed-out text that VAT (UK tax) is included in price, then far down the web page there is a second greyed-out text that says the features in white text may not all be available. The EQS brochure and configurator seem updated more often by comparison.

Personally I did happen to get a build sheet before car production and will insist on in future too.

You could ask Mercedes Me app support about if they will update software so at least some of the Comfort programme is possible

Unfortunately the list of EQS options marketed and promoted but not available continues to grow.

I'm wandering if it's the UK only or wider? A poor do as the costs to include (very much like the sound programs mentioned elsewhere on the forum) are next to nothing.

Keep us posted please on your efforts to hunt down the option. It's useful to know about these omissions.

I get the impression the comfort program/energizing coach doesn't currently seem to be promoted much for the saloon in USA or Ireland websites, same as UK. But Mercedes say the upcoming SUV will be updatable with Energizing Coach via over-the-air update, but not the saloon. In-the-Mercedes-service-centre update should be possible for saloon too if they decide on it, unless there is a hidden difference such as speculatively the saloon is missing recently-extraordinarily-expensive-to-get dedicated tiredness/heartbeat/etc tracking hardware that the SUV will use another supplier/setup for.

Looking back to April 2021 the programmes were promoted more such as this document..
A good couple of posts Dar .... Mercedes seem to be advertising like a top line hotel, to arrive only to have the limpest room, with no bottle of wine, no view, staff off sick, pool being repaired .... all the things you see in the images being systematically denied.

The Word document is a very good check list of things we appear not to be seeing and it keeps growing.

Have to say, as one who only buys a car once in a blue moon, this really hacks me off. I guess if you are taking a new car more regularly then you might be less frustrated. And still new Youtube videos keep coming up with these things shown and then missing from the catalog.

Also some features seem easy to overlook in UK though I haven't compared other countries. Using EQE as example this time, keyless entry is completely missing for EQE standard (AMG Line) car which is such a nice feature and very well done by Mercedes in my experience. It was standard on all UK EQC last time I checked years ago and is so nice I am surprised it is not standard in the E class of EVs. Going through the current build configurator for EQE, some features are unexpectedly included like the entry-level EQE seems to have rear-axle steering as standard but not keyless entry.

Following up last post, I suspect the rear-axle steering as standard in configurator summary above is swimming-pool-not-open situation to be honest because the brochure only mentions it for the "real" AMG versions (not AMG Line versions). So have to dig key out of purse then shuffle back and forth out of parking space as no keyless entry or rear-axle steering on entry-level I am guessing, but could have been overlooked if I was ordering and assumed keyless entry "must" be standard and that configurator must be accurate about this axle feature.

And the thing is Dar, you should not have to dive so deep with analysis to try to figure out if you will or won't get these things. It should be crystal in the documentation and crystal from the dealer. It absolutely is not. It's a joint journey of discovery!

I get that there can be supply side challenges but that's sort of MB's issue that they should have the scale and resource to work through. It should not be down to diligent types like yourself and some of the other guys on here to persevere through it like some sort of 'options crystal maze' .... it should be a predictable pleasure that of course comes with a price tag.

Ordering EQS (and it sounds like EQE) is more like one of those tasting menus you get in posh restaurants in London or Barcelona or the like, where they charge you an arm and then decide what they have out back for you to eat. Sure it's likely to be good but rarely precisely what you would have ordered or wanted :)
