I leased a new EQB 35 days ago! I was charging at a nearby dc fast charging station and the car stopped charging all of a sudden and then I could not start or drive the car and it gave me a battery malfunction error. Had to wait for 4 hours for a tow truck in the middle of the night. I have completely lost confidence in this car and I don’t know what to do.

It would be interesting as to the outcome. Please post when you have the answer.

Had the same issue. Mercedes tow truck was going to take 3 hours, so I used AAA instead. Today it starts up fine after charging it to 100% at the dealer it was towed to. Still need to find out what the issue is but they say that can't look at it for six weeks.

The dealership said the issue is from an overload of current during charging. The parts required are back ordered and could take months to get fix. They gave me a gas loaner and expect me to pay for the lease on the electric as well as the cost of gas on the loaner. Ridiculous!

This has happened to me and others. Here is a trick to try that has worked for us. What usually happens in these cases is that the car feels in danger from a bad sequence of events and goes into “turtle mode” to protect itself. To reset itself, it needs to go to sleep and then in the process of waking up it will reset itself. To put it to sleep take all keys away from the locked car. Stay away for 20 minutes (get a coffee, take a walk). When you return and wake it up with your key fob all will probably be well.

When you say take the keys away do you mean they have to be a specific distance away from the car?

For the car to sleep it needs to not have a key nearby. If it detects a key it stays awake in prep for things like unlocking etc. I don’t know the exact distance or time. I experienced this a year ago in a different brand of ev and learned about it from a video on yet another brand. It’s worth a try in my opinion.
