Yes, the jury is still out on that until we have some cars to play with. I'm sure 550 km is going to be something close to the best achievable, and not representative of typical use.
But, I will take the opportunity to share something I noticed while playing with various EQE SUV configurations on the configurator here in Sweden.
First of all, we all know by now that range can depend on a zillion things. So, I can understand why the manufacturer has challenges with how to express this in the marketing materials. The range-estimator tools I've seen on some MB websites do quite a nice job of trying to address this.
Anyway, what struck me while clicking everywhere possible on the MB website for all things EQE SUV related, was just how many different range figures were shown for the EQE SUV 500 4Matic, even with WLTP. I started making a note every time I saw a different one.
Most interesting, however was an experiment I did with the configurator. I noted the range estimate on the configuration document produced after each major addition to the configuration. It went something like in the screen-shot below.
In summary, as I added equipment, the range went down. Not a surprise, but it's the first time I came to clearly understand that the "cost" of adding all the toys is not just the purchase price of these options. I guess each option, or suite of options, adds weight. And, I guess many of them add to power drain, even if they're "off" or not very active.

The discussion and importance of range is so lifestyle-based. I have not driven 300 or even 200 miles in a day for longer than I can remember. 99%+ of our trips are no more than 20 minutes, and the other 1% maybe raises it to 45-60 minutes. There is nowhere to go over 200 miles out and back in a day that is not more reasonable to fly to. The location of public chargers will likely remain irrelevant to our usage, unless something quite unexpected happens. With a charger in our home garage (as I suspect many will have), recharging after a day's driving (if needed) is easy. I expect to recharge once every 3 weeks in actuality, and with solar panels on the roof, I like the price! Therefore, I am not worried about range numbers for their own sake. Perhaps others have different use cases for their vehicle for long trips?

Absolutely agree! I focus on range a lot, because we drive from Sweden to France or Italy and back each year. I think about how many charge stops...and how that actually may lead to adding one more hotel night. Some will say that's what planes are for. But, we have a cat who does not like to fly and we tend to carry a lot of stuff with us -- hence we drive. I am hoping -- and expecting -- that the new driving habits imposed by having to recharge will be a good thing. It will force me to take driving breaks at a more "responsible" frequency. We are retired, so we have the time and, really, one more hotel night doesn't matter.

If I lived where you do, I'd probably be doing similar trips...sounds outstanding. A trip to France or Italy is a major and infrequent event for us. It's been years. I think the European infrastructure for recharging is ahead of North America, so the burden may not be too bad to find an open charger in a convenient location along the way. Taking a slight bit more time does allow you to proverbially, "stop and smell the roses"!

May I add that for a Swede, your English is excellent and better than many native speakers.

I would not get my hopes up. After 4000 miles in my EQS SUV I am somewhat disappointed in the "From Reset" mpkWh which now stands at 2.3 after a recent 600 mile trip in near freezing temperatures. EPA estimate for the EQS 450 4Matic SUV is 285 miles. When temperatures were above 50 F a 100% charge started with about 350 miles in the "tank". Now that temperatures are closer to 30 F a 100% SoC yields closer to 250 miles.

A comfortable distance for the first leg of a Winter road trip with a starting SoC of 100% is about 200 miles. Once you are on the road and charging to 80% I find that 160 miles is about the limit if you want to allow a reserve in case the EA chargers are not working when you reach the charging station.

Thank you for posting this Lazaru5! These are the two most useful numbers I've seen in two months' of reading everything I could find about the EQE* and EQS*. When comparing to what I might expect in an EQE SUV in similar trips and conditions, I must keep in mind that the EQE battery is slightly smaller and that the EQS does not have a heat pump. Perhaps these two opposing things approximately cancel each other out? We shall see...
