Looks like Mercedes is gearing to join the Formula E racing series as a sponsor, meaning on-track advertising and event naming-rights. Shame they won't be taking part in the race itself as it'll be a great proving ground for their electric car tech.
Yeah its odd that they don't have any interest in participating in Formula E. I expect the series to gain in popularity as more EV's begin to hit the market. Hopefully they are considering implementing sound generators on the cars though, because its definitely not the same without the noise.
Maybe Mercedes will join the etrophy race instead of formula E, because the former is the world's first all-electric production based international race series. So all the better to show off their production ready EQ models.
Looks like the enterprise software company SAP will partner up with the Mercedes EQ Formula E team to develop new technologies. Guessing they'll be in charge of the race car's ECU, programming it for optimal performance.
