Its important we discuss build quality on these new EQC's, being one of many new electric Mercedes Benz models to come out from now till the early 2020's. Even any time big changes like this happen, it should be the first question that pops into most buyers minds. I started looking into what Mercedes has done so far and the details are few. However, I was able to find out that 200 prototypes were being tested around the world in all extreme weather conditions throughout a 3-year span!

Since these EV's models are largely built upon existing platforms, I doubt all that much will change in regards to the reliability and fit and finish of the EQC. Large scale EV production does present some challenges and we will see if Mercedes has the proper infrastructure in place to keep up with demand.

Degradation of the battery pack is really the only concern, but most new electrics have few reported issues relating to range loss. Maintenance and repairs should be far less expensive and frequent on this new platform.

Smarter on-board battery management systems will help.
Not only that but automakers are pulling more data from vehicles that are in the hands of consumers.
I'm sure with all that data a higher level of efficiency can be achieved with a deeper understanding of real world performance.

Have any of you checked out the new CLA?

If you have and are familiar with the previous year models, its clear Mercedes is trying to make improvements.

Word is, those issues came from excessive outsourcing but that's changing. GLB and the electric version we're getting are part of it.

Not a fan of it. I'm here for design that Mercedes is introducing with it EQ line. Hopefully an EQ compact is in the books.
