Does anyone use this? Does it work? I am expecting it to cover most of the major players is this the case? Are the chargers it covers the ones on the mercedes me map and in the navigation system or do they both use generic data meaning you may still have a faff of paying by contactless or different app at a charge point. It is a system that appeals greatly and in many ways seems a good answer to Tesla’s supercharger network apart from using many slow speed chargers here in France. My expectation is that I can use the car navigation system and use the chargers it lists with the car or app organising authorisation or the supplied RFID card. Have I fallen for marketing puff and been naive? Be interested in anyone’s experiences.

I have use it few times.

I pickup my car from Germany, drove thru Sweden to Finland so in Sweden I used only Ionity chargers and logged in with MercedesMe app.

Here in Finland if you want to use McDonald´s superchargers (150/225kw) so the price is cheaper with MercedesMe than electric company who managed those (50cent/minute vs 25cent/minute). I don´t know why, but okay for me. Most of other chargers are more expensive with MercedesMe (app/card) than with provider´s app/card/tag, because roaming-costs.

Here in the UK the Mercedes me charge card works well. But I am unable to get from Mercedes a list of networks that the card works with. I have tried several times to communicate with them by email and the most recent reply told me that they simply will not tell me! They prefer me to use mbux or the app. Problem is the the data behind these sources is very inaccurate with a number of charges either broken, removed, never existed or are for private use only. What I want to do is co-ordinate with a reliable source such as zapmaps.
Does anyone have a definitive list of charge networks that Mercedes me charge works with?

Thank you very useful info. I will probably mainly only use it in my home country of france so roaming will not be a big issue but I can be prepared and look at other systems. I suspect paying the roaming charges might prove cheaper over another card or cards with a monthly fee in the same way on a long trip I always fill up the car at motorway services which are always far more expensive than supermarkets or other garages. Here in France the 2 main partners are Ionity and also total so they may come in cheaper. Thank you for taking the time to respond I appreciate it.

Have you tried registration from internet? I just remember that it wasn't so easy to find right page, but when I did it so it have worked.
My understanding is that just like Mercedes me you have to register and I have seen the registration page when browsing the Mercedes site. I know I will be registered by the garage on the day I collect my car as they have a very thorough handover process. They will also transfer my internet in the car account and another insurance I have in relation to theft of the vehicle and ins for the main car ins excess which is usually free for the first year. The register page can be found by googling Mercedes me charge I think and you just need the vehicle VIN. I would have assumed you could also activate it from the Mercedes me app?

Ok so if i understand you correctly you are saying that the data in the MBUX navi and the Mercedes me charge maps via the web is not fully accurate? That then answers my question that one cannot take as read that the chargers shown on the maps via the web is an accurate listing of what you can use (still waiting delivery of my car and I think it may be delayed 🙄). Ionity have their own maps and A better route planner is good so you could cross reference to those if you have not done so already. Am thinking I may need to investigate Chargemap and a card for longer trips….however it may be different here in France as Total are also partners with Mercedes and IF Mercedes are linked up to the local Authroity public network as well that would give me enough coverage I think for my normal type of trips. Thanks for responding it is useful.

Have you checked the price of Ionity-charging from your MercedesMe?

Just now I don´t have Ionity-package, but still the price is 17,40 euros/hour (0,29e/min) and in Finland it´s quite reasonable price from fast charging. If I take Ionity-package so it cost 156,00 euros / year and then the price of power will be also 0,29e/min?

You've probably found this out by now, but as far as I know the Mercedes me Charge card 'officially' works with Ionity, BP Pulse, Instavolt, ESB Energy and I think one other which escapes me now. I've also used it on eVolt (open network).

Yeh, Mercedes Me card is a bit frustrating to use as it still only works with a handful of charge-point providers. Also, it doesn't necessarily work with all charge-points from the same company, for example, it works with InstaVolt at McDonalds but not with InstaVolt at Costa Coffee. I checked this with InstaVolt and they confirmed. Bizarre.

McDonald's super-chargers have been cheap way charge car in Finland with MercedesMeCharge (15,00€/hour), but not anymore. Just saw the new price - 31,80€/hour. Those have been Recharge-chargers.

Trying to find out what's happening and found this:

Mercedes me Charge, three new tariff profiles for car charging

I used my Mercedes’ me charge card for the first time last week at a Lidl charger which had been free but is now charging. As yet there is still nothing showing in the app under transactions. How long does it take for them to appear after you use a charger?

Hmm as I charged last Thursday and there is nothing on my account yet it might mean it has not been processed for some reason🤔
The sign says 25 centimes per kWh plus any charge from the rfid card provider min cost 3 euro. It was free until last week but Freshmile have installed a large no of chargers at leclerc next door that might have been the reason for the change🤷‍♀️ They are only AC chargers so I think the max would be 22kw but my EQC can take 11kw which it was.
Thanks for responding useful info

Really? How bizarre. Also. Really useful to know before I make a point of choosing Costas as a plan! I’m a total newbie to public charging so am at the bottom of the learning curve. I used my Mercedes Me chargecard yesterday and it worked well.

That was at McDonalds InstaVolt and also another network, Osprey (I’m in Wales). All worked well.

I’m aiming to use the card wherever I can for now as I have 12 months free Large subscription. Looking at the tariffs to 1/3/23 it’s a no brainer. Come 1/3/23 I may need to review which networks to target.
The Costa issue is a new one for me and worth testing ‘locally’. It’s good to share intel. Thank you.
