The car is great.... the finish and service of my local MB dealership less so.

Has anyone experienced lacquer peel with a matte finish?

The vehicle was with MB of Brighton previously for a paint repair to a chip caused by their 'lead technician' and they had the car all of 6 hours which I did comment at the time seemed far too quick to let paint cure but I couldn't find fault... till now?

Is anyone informed on how they repair matte paint and/or if this is a common occurrence? The whole vehicle was ceramic coated by MAXWAX at around 400 miles. Now at 4500.

UPDATE: MB put me onto their bodyshop who confirmed this is poor workmanship and likely to be from factory. Seems I got myself a Friday afternoon car. Get this.... £2650 was the quote to repaint the bumper.....

I feel I should add, this is not a factory issue.

I sent the car back because the dealership got a spot of road rash while the car was being used to ferry their technician home and back. The dealership chose to perform a smart repair on the whole bumper without my knowledge and this was a failure of that repair. They subsequently 'fixed' the peeling lacquer without my approval and the second respray was still sub par with obvious imperfections.

I should be hearing from them in the coming days to get the car booked in with a proper body shop. Lord knows how they managed to prep, spray and cure a front bumper in under 5 hours.
