The next model joining the MB EQ lineup will be a sedan, but not an electric variant of the C-Class. The sedan will join the confirmed EQC SUV as well as the EQA hatchback. While the SUV is set to go on sale next year, the sedan might not be ready for production until 2022. MB plans to reveal ten new electrics by 2025, all using the same electric platform.

You're more than welcome to generate your own threads. There are plenty of automotive publications that found this information to be considered news. Anyways its now been confirmed that the upcoming electric sedan will in fact be a top of the line S-Class. As the ICE variant of the S-Class is to begin a new generation in 2020, its believed that Mercedes will debut the EQ S at the same time.

I'm assuming that the S Class will be designed to rival that of Tesla's Model S? That is of course if that company manages to stay afloat for the new few years. Wonder in MB will try to implement a similar level of autonomous driving capability.

If it's anything like the plug-in hybrid S560e, then the EQ S could look like any other gas powered car but with a power outlet under one of the taillights. Guess it's time to polish those backing in skills.
