I am wondering if that is just my car colour without a clearcoat. (selinite grey) Be interested to know how it wears and what you have to do to look after it.
Being a bit old fashioned I like a bit of chrome so cannot help re dechroming. Whilst not directly relevant to the EQC mbworld.org which has a majority american readership has a huge amount of mercedes info across all models aapart from the EQC as it has never been exported there! Am sure you will find some general tips re mercedes de chroming as of course they transfer the same build techniques across all models. The GLCf forums may be a good place to look given our EQC are related.
I have seen a video on fitting the running boards on a GLC so it will show you how they are fixed if you were thinking of taking them off in the dechrome, they are an optional extra here in France and I did not spec them and for me the car looks better without plus it is easier to get in and out. On the test drive of a car with them I was swearing about them after half an hour🙄

Congrats @jonmorris1975, that looks fantastic! (y)

@Parkwood - matte finish should be a different paint formula even for the same colour; I did some work with a car manufacturer in the past and their paint shop needed physically different capabilities to be able to spray matte paint.
Living in the country as I do I am not sure how such paint would last. The rear of the car is perpetually covered in dirt, I have neither the time nor inclination to wash the thing everyweek but frankly to keep it clean would need a daily wash and as soon as you go up the lane in anything other than bone dry conditions the back is once again covered in grime. One of the reasons I love the remote boot release😉
I have also noticed that the front wheels will throw mud up over the wing mirrors if you are cornering on a muddy surface or manouvering in a farm courtyard for example and it sometimes goes over the front doors.
The EQC styling does not impress me much it is ok but does not set my heart racing but mine does occasionally look like some real 4x4 with all the mud and dirt that get stuck to it🤣

Hi all, I am from North Wales, UK and I am the proud new owner of an EQC in the amazing selenite matte grey. I am looking at dechroming so was wondering if anyone else has done this? View attachment 802
Hi Jon, Just stumbled across this thread, did you get the car dechromed in the end? I also own an EQC 400 in selenite matte grey and want to do the same. Cheers Jon
