Hello to All, new EQS driver just signed up to the forum. Car was delivered a couple of weeks ago. Been on order since last April and it finally arrived! It's early days and it's a fantastic drive so far and I'm very pleased with it. One long run up to London last weekend and back, round trip of about 160 miles which was very relaxing, even though heavy traffic in central London as expected.
Previously had a Jag Ipace for just over three years, I loved that car, but just no development to it to bring it up to more modern EV tech standards and the range in winter/at speed was terrible. The EQS feels and drives significantly differently, not so much size, just type of ride (in a good way so far).

A warm welcome from my side.
Currently I drive an EQA but my EQS will arrive in two weeks. Before this, I had also a Jaguar I-Pace First Edition. The most terrible car I ever drove. It spent more time in the workshop than on the road.
The car was leased, so I had to keep it for 36 months. Several times the adaptive cruise control tried to crash me in the car in front of me.
The EQA is really nice and the EQS should be even nicer.

Hey @Grev welcome to the forum and congrats on getting your EQS! What has been your favorite thing about the car so far? Do you have any photos of it you can share?

Looking at the EQE preferrably the SUV so will need to start talking to my garage given the lead times noted you waited nearly a year!
My EQC has no way of programming the charge ie if I want to use cheap rate I cannot plug the car in and set it to charge at the relevant hours. I had a tariff which enabled me to work around that comfortsbly with cheap weekend and 1 weekday rate but in the recent price rise it had gone up too much so I have swapped to another where the best rate is only nightime.
I am cross when I see other manufacturers have such programmes even in cars much much cheaper than any of the Mercedes. have they corrected this frustrating omission in the new cars?

Hi @91Underwood thanks for the welcome, pic as requested, Not had good weather where I am in Uk, so a bit of a dull day in the pic. The old ipace and the new EQS together.

@Parkwood the EQS doesn't seem to have a proper on/off scheduled charge function. It's similar to the ipace, some kind of work backwards from a set departure time. At least the ipace had a preferred charge times (but the car usually overode it!). It was absolute useless bit of code (from a user perspective). I have a Pod Point supply which I use to run the overnight schedule to get my lower cost tariff for 4 hours a night. With the Ipace typically two charges got me a full battery. The EQS is going to need at least 3 nights :). So charging all ok when I'm at home. Need to sign up for the free Ionity charging though, before I go away on any long trips.
