Hi forum 👋
Hope everyone is staying safe and well at this challenging time 😷
Having been somewhat of a lurker, I have decided to join the forum as I have pulled the trigger on an EQC lease through work. I did want a V8 X5 🤘(or even an X7/GLS👌) but BiK is a killer (😱) so I could only really choose a pure EV (😫)

So EQC Premium Plus in (basic) white due shortly, apparently supplied by MB Retail Group Fleet Sales in Ealing.

If not for work lease programme I wouldn’t be able to afford this car or would wish to sink my own money into this hair dryer 🤣
I would however be grateful for recommendations for which company I should ask for to supply and fit a home charge point.

Thank you for the welcome :)

I have an excellent public charging network and it is ever growing daily. Sadly no charge point at my place of work though!

I could charge at a public charge point once a week (I reckon) but home charge point would be more convenient.

Yes this is my first EV. If it was my own money I’d not buy one and I’m not sure these things are for me - but BIK and subsidised lease rate (including full maintenance) makes it an absolute no brainier. While I have it (3 years/36K Miles) I will put it to the test and not being my car, intend to use full speed chargers as often as possible and enjoy it...who knows it might change my mind!

In terms of charge point, have decided to keep it simple and go with BP Pulse (do like the Anderson but at £1K+ not for me).

I use the BP chargemaster which came free with the car....no problems at all...you can set charging times...unfortunately mercedes do not offer this facility....I also have Octopus Go which gives 0.05p per kwh 4 hours per night - 28kwh

@frontiers financial centers and the like are among the first work related areas that typically get them.
If it was your money, would it at least be another EV? Tesla? Or even a hybrid?

@998 DNM glad to hear because reviews seem quite mixed.
On reviews.co.uk is mostly positive but DEEPLY concerning on trustpilot.com.

Have you guy come across those reviews?

Be sure to keep us updated and hopefully it treats you well. Were there any other vehicles you were considering aside from the EQC?

Since mine is a non-retail purchase I don’t qualify for the free wall charger - have to arrange my own. I will go with BP Pulse for ease and simplicity, although would like one of the Anderson’s!

I’m pretty sure my car will be delayed due to the nonsense that is Brexit and now Covid. I’m off work right now and even then working from home so not bothered when it arrives.

Yes I am looking forward to it, and looking forward to a pretty relaxed ownership experience...however if it were my own money? It’d be a V8 X5 or X7 all day or even a GLS.

What would be helpful, can anyone please tell me if these cars benefit from  Car Key feature?
