I can understand why and not having the MBUX augmented reality means you will not be able to sign up for the new dashcam facility as I understand having MBUX augmented reality is needed as the system uses the installed camera. I have been told all is there we shall see once I pick up the car. I am a longstanding direct customer and this is my 4th car leased from mercedes themsleves via my dealership who also looked after my UK mercedes I imported on arrival here (simple to do in those days not so now🙄) I do wonder if they operate a priority system for those dealing direct with a dealership ie the dealer can exert pressue for their clients to get what chips are available. My dealer knows I am interested in the EQE and steered me to the EQC on a temporary basis with a deal that was too good to pass over and a simple 18mth no penalty get out clause so long as I change to another mercedes. I know of someone still waiting for the e class hybrid here in france ( the date has been pushed on yet again) and they are also dealing with a separate lease company however that company is owned by and part of mercedes it specialises in business fleets and all his contact is via his dealer but he is still being messed about so my theory may hold no water at all🙄We ordered our AMG Premium Plus on 16th April through the lease company but the order was placed with MB dealer on 4th May due to the lease company being disorganised. Initial delivery estimate was mid-July which kept changing through the months. It has now been pushed back to mid-October but MB have cancelled the augmented reality navigation, wireless charging and energising comfort options due to the global chip shortage. I don’t care about the energising comfort but I’m not happy about the removal of the other two options which were built into the package. They have offered a £250 John Lewis voucher for the inconvenience.
Can you cancel the lease I ordered at the same time expected end of October not been informed about reduced spec though I’m now going to ask the question as I’d not be happy paying the monthly lease for a lesser spec vehicle…We ordered our AMG Premium Plus on 16th April through the lease company but the order was placed with MB dealer on 4th May due to the lease company being disorganised. We can cancel the lease but after speaking to the Mercedes dealership directly, they said that any new orders won’t be arriving until May 2022! We will be discussing the pricing with the lease company due to the lesser spec. Can you cancel the lease I ordered at the same time expected end of October not been informed about reduced spec though I’m now going to ask the question as I’d not be happy paying the monthly lease for a lesser spec vehicle…
Thanks. Pity about the dashcam as it was an option I was hoping to add at some stage. It would make sense for MB to prioritise those dealing directly with them but would also hope that they function on a queuing system where orders that are put through first get attended to first. I suppose in my case they were waiting for the chips to arrive so that they could deliver the car with all the options, but now as the delivery date is just getting further and further away, they have decided to just deliver the car without them. Hopefully they will add those options at a later date.I can understand why and not having the MBUX augmented reality means you will not be able to sign up for the new dashcam facility as I understand having MBUX augmented reality is needed as the system uses the installed camera. I agree they should operate a simple queing system having taken orders and the long del times seem to indicate that is now happening. It does seem all the manufacturers are stripping out some of the toys where it is holding up the ability to build the car and they are no longer being offerred so customers know what to expect. It is those who ordered before all this became so severe who seem to be getting the roughest deal and little forward thinking by Mercedes in terms of customer goodwill with less than generous offers for compensation for lost facilities especially given the option price in the first place! I am not sure if the dashcam is offerred here will be very disappointed if it is not but our privacy laws are quite complex which might be putting legally risk averse mercedes off releasing it. Everything seems to be in such a state of flux these days! Thanks. Pity about the dashcam as it was an option I was hoping to add at some stage. I am surprised at Mercedes. This is not an omission that I would have expected, especially as it is also in the other electric cars. Maybe they were in such a hurry to get the cars out, that someone forgot to check if all the cars had the engine covers. Either way, I wonder what their reasoning is.discovered late yesterday there is no engine cover☹😤just the weedy looking lot of gubbins all exposed. Contacted the garage who were surprised then checked other electric cars only to find the same thing🤔 they are clarifying if it is a mercedes decision not to ship with the engine covered or not and if so why. I suppose it does not matter but mercedes always made the engine bay look tidy and not to have a cover seems utterly wrong😯more like my 1968 hillman hunter which had a small dirty engine in a large engine bay with the ground clearly visible beneath it. What is the world cpming too eh when mercedes stop fitting engine covers🤣 and on the EQS and EQE you cannot even open the bonnet…..
Spoke to the garage yesterday and they were surprised so started a search in case it had been removed during thr PDI no cover to be found and then they looked at some other EQ they have in stock (EQA) no covers either. Sales rep now thinking mercedes have stopped fitting them for some reason…….he will confirm monday after talking to mercedes france, but, more research indicates that that does seem to be the case across the EQ range and for the EQC since the 2021 model year when they upgraded the onboard charger from 7.2 to 11kw, they gave and they took away🤣. It was just a shock having seen all the early reviews. still less weight to cart about I suppose.I am surprised at Mercedes. Mine had the camera, but no augmented reality☹car arrived at the garage this morning they sent a pic and I think I am right in thinking it has the mbux augmented as the third bottom camera is visible in the photo but am not sure. not collecting until next weds pm but will update when I have got the car.
