Just ordered a new EQC AMG Line as a replacement company car - entire company fleet changing to EV.

Ordered through the lease company and order placed with MB dealer, being quoted February 2022 delivery!

Standard car in Spectral Blue.

mine was ordered 20th April this year due the 24th July but no news at all as to when it may arrive. On another forum an e class hybrid due to be produced for end of July delivery also here in france has been pushed back twice and will not make it before the end of the month assuming the 2nd build date was adhered to. apparently the dealer had had only 35 cars when he has a couple of hundred on order all to do with the chip crises. The french on line configurator now says certain cars will not be available with all the accessories and to speak to the dealership to identify which cars are affected plus there is a general shortage of the LTE modules so some will be delivered with no e call or mercedes me ability initially😤. for an EQC that is not good news methinks but I do not know if that is why mine is delayed. so at least you know there is a long wait in advance I was just expecting the standard 3 mth build cycle. ironic as my current e was delayed from may to Sept in 2018 due to the WLTP retesting. Have to go to the town with the dealership next week and as the car is now nagging for it’s 36mth service something I hoped not to have to organise with the attendant hassle of taking it in etc I will call in to make the appt and try to find out when the car may arrive and in what condition….

well called into the dealership and surprise surprise the car had apparently left the factory today at 13.00 hrs complete with LTE module and all the specs as ordered.it will be with the dealer in 10 to 15 days so it maybe with me very soon. i have some commitments the week of the 6th which may lead me to push back delivery until the 13th or 14th if I cannot collect earlier. i will report back once it has arrived.

We ordered our AMG Premium Plus on 16th April through the lease company but the order was placed with MB dealer on 4th May due to the lease company being disorganised. Initial delivery estimate was mid-July which kept changing through the months. It has now been pushed back to mid-October but MB have cancelled the augmented reality navigation, wireless charging and energising comfort options due to the global chip shortage. I don’t care about the energising comfort but I’m not happy about the removal of the other two options which were built into the package. They have offered a £250 John Lewis voucher for the inconvenience.

I can understand why and not having the MBUX augmented reality means you will not be able to sign up for the new dashcam facility as I understand having MBUX augmented reality is needed as the system uses the installed camera. I have been told all is there we shall see once I pick up the car. I am a longstanding direct customer and this is my 4th car leased from mercedes themsleves via my dealership who also looked after my UK mercedes I imported on arrival here (simple to do in those days not so now🙄) I do wonder if they operate a priority system for those dealing direct with a dealership ie the dealer can exert pressue for their clients to get what chips are available. My dealer knows I am interested in the EQE and steered me to the EQC on a temporary basis with a deal that was too good to pass over and a simple 18mth no penalty get out clause so long as I change to another mercedes. I know of someone still waiting for the e class hybrid here in france ( the date has been pushed on yet again) and they are also dealing with a separate lease company however that company is owned by and part of mercedes it specialises in business fleets and all his contact is via his dealer but he is still being messed about so my theory may hold no water at all🙄

picked up the car and all the hardware is there for MBUX Augmented Reality but it is not working until some missing bits arrive. Am told it will be made to work at some point apparently we shall see.
Parallel parking is disabled though reverse and front on parking in car park situations is working. and strangely the tow hook is missing as is the motor cover under the bonnet, that one was a surprise I only discovered today☹

Hi Parkwood,

I am in the same boat. Car is expected to arrive this week with the same missing items and I've been told retrofit is unlikely. Aside from a poxy £250 voucher I can take it or leave it.

Just wondering how you (or anyone else) is getting on without these features and in general, is it still worth it without? Was looking forward after such a long wait but it's a bit of a damper now..
Much appreciated
NP

discovered late yesterday there is no engine cover☹😤just the weedy looking lot of gubbins all exposed. Contacted the garage who were surprised then checked other electric cars only to find the same thing🤔 they are clarifying if it is a mercedes decision not to ship with the engine covered or not and if so why. I suppose it does not matter but mercedes always made the engine bay look tidy and not to have a cover seems utterly wrong😯more like my 1968 hillman hunter which had a small dirty engine in a large engine bay with the ground clearly visible beneath it. What is the world cpming too eh when mercedes stop fitting engine covers🤣 and on the EQS and EQE you cannot even open the bonnet…..

I am surprised at Mercedes. This is not an omission that I would have expected, especially as it is also in the other electric cars. Maybe they were in such a hurry to get the cars out, that someone forgot to check if all the cars had the engine covers. Either way, I wonder what their reasoning is.

Update they are indeed coming in with no covers across the EQ range possibly due to vibration issues but on the EQC it seems it stopped with the 2021 model year with the change of the on board charger. For my part I am wondering if it is cost cutting but whatever am not bothering with it now. Overall am really really pleased with the car, bit of a typical SUV ride but the drive is sublime and very relaxing. Just hoping the EQE is as good or better🤣

For Augmented Video for Navigation U19 requires 549 MBUX Multimedia (System) High to work, check your Order Sheet and see if you car has 548.... will not work even if you have the Camera U19, the MBUX Multimedia has two versions of the MBUX Nvidia GPU:

548 which has Basic: Nvidia Reily chip

549 which has Advanced: Nvidia Parker 128 chip requirement for Augmented Reality to work U19

To be honest Mercedes Benz HQ in Germany should be informing customers, who ordered full spec cars ie Premium Plus that a retro fit would be forthcoming when the new parts are available and fitted at your dealership.

My VIN is too new for most of the sites but one has come up and it shows code 549 connect 20 high NTG6 so I assume that is relating to the MBUX and the code you refer too? In reality it is a lot of jargon for thise of us without access to the relevant dictionary🤣
It also shows 8b6 Park Assist with cross traffic (UN R79) which I assume is the current system with the parallel parking disabled and a straight 235 Active Parking Assist.
Covered 507 km now and am very pleased only real gripes are the sligtly joggly ride which plagues SUV and why I prefer an estate and the lack of active lane change assist. Changing lanes yesterday on the motorway whilst in cruise control with lane assist it felt as if the car was fighting you when you were changing lanes to overtake whereas in the e class it felt normal and indeed the car would do it for you if you just used the indicator. So it feels they have simply disabled an element and not corrected the software to understand and relinguish control as you adjust the steering to overtake. Wonder if it will be corrected in an uppdate🤔

Update to say that our car is being delivered to us next week Thursday. Hopefully, it should be as close to what we ordered as possible as MB stated that the colour had changed slightly due to production being after 1st September and the old colour being removed but they’re not too sure what else would have changed in line with the new spec changes.

Our car arrived on Thursday but MB did not install the Burmester sound system which we were not told about. We got the standard MB sound system. Raised this with them and got the usual ‘due to the shortage of chips etc.’. We still took delivery as other than that, the car is good. Just disappointed that nothing was communicated to us especially as they had already told us about the other 3 missing items. Speaking to the leasing company as to compensation for that. Have driven it a couple of times but still getting used to it.

Oh dear, that's so annoying. Mine is due to be delivered next Thurs and i have not been advised of this so will be quite pissed as I've made plans to sell my current car so will be stuck. Also aside from the £250 voucher I too have not been offered any reduction.
How is the car, are you happy so far?

Hi Np1.

After a week, I am happy with it despite the missing items. I’m yet to get to grips with the recuperation on the one pedal driving which I don’t use too much of at the moment. I have an issue with speed bumps, of which there are plenty in my area. Even though they are not high, my car hits the road when it goes over the pump. Same goes for where there’s a dip in the road. This means I really have to slow down when I see one of those coming up on the road.

In my french spec car built in Aug yes it does work, it will park into car parking spaces front or back but not parallel park ie street parking though I have not actually tried it out. I think it does identify the spaces for street parking but you do more of the work a bit like an earlier version of the parking function. Those cars with the driver assistance package will also not have the active lane change where if you signal the car changes lane ie on motorways all UN 79 reasons.I had that in the. e class it was ok but I had begun not to use it as frankly it really added nothing to the driving experience and was only really useable in light traffic as it was a bit slow. It has been switched off in all cars excl the new c class and s class according to my dealer. Overall for me personally those changes were really minor. Even the lack of augmented reality which will be installed when possible ( the camera is there) is not an issue albeit I really want a dashcam so for that reason I hope it is not too late in coming.
The sheer driving quality of the car otherwise has made me a very happy owner despite having reservations when I bought it about dropping a class from e to c which speaks volumes about what a good job mercedes has done.

Hi all, so I got the car today and have mixed feelings. It may be too early to judge. The bermester sound is missing despite being advised it wouldn't be, the other bits as advised were missing but no john lewis voucher given. Spoke to the leasing Co and they said the missing bits would be retro fitted (despite being told earlier they wouldnt) but I doubt they would replace the speakers. The car has parking sensors but havnt managed to work out if parks
Think I need to play with it more, perhaps I just expected more from a MB AMG or just need to figure things out

The fragrance doesn't work, might be as no energising comfort? Not sure half the time if the lane assist is on or not. Ambient lighting seems limited mostly for the driver to see...maybe missing something or just high expectations. However its only day one so I'll report back. Oh yeah cant open the damn boot either by kicking!

Been meaning to respond to this for ages and you have probably worked it out yourself but the lane assist is speed related. So I too noticed the warning indicator was sometimes green and sometimes grey and the penny finally dropped it was speed related. It kicks in at 60km according to the manual😉

Sorry I thought I replied to this. The kickboot doesn't work much of the time but I can live without that. I've managed to get the park assist working but it's a bit hit and miss, and also quite scary at times I have had to stop it from potentially hitting another car.

The fragrance is minimal, very occasionally I get a slight smell but that's about it. I've tried all sorts of settings.

With all that said, I am enjoying the drive and having quite some fun putting the pedal to the metal! I do worry if I were to go kn a long journey, I'd really have to drive sensibly and by that I mean 50 to 60 mph with no heating as the range doesn't seem great. I am learning neat new things all the time.

The d-auto is pretty cool although I half expected the car to steer itself ! I've found a profile where I have two tone ambient lights, hit pink and blue, looks very cool and even the kids agreed!

I'll be sure to change to a better range car to allow for my driving habits, no fun otherwise, the eqs seems to have very good range but it may be too expensive however Lucid Air not only looks damn good but claims 500 mile and seems similar to EQC pricing.

Finally I made a formal complaint to the lease Co. As no burmester speakers and the sun roof doesn't slide back only tilts slightly up. Both items should be included on the plus package and neither advised prior to delivery. Plus MB are now saying no retro fit of the other missing items so I'm paying all the extras for nothing!

Hi all. In reply to Parkwood’s question on my Park Assist, it just doesn’t work. I try it almost every time just to see if it will eventually work but with no success. It does scan for spaces but doesn’t pick them up.

@Np1 my partner has an issue using the boot kick function but it works for me all them time. Handy when I’m holding things in my hands. I prefer to select the D— function as D-auto has not really been working for me, even when I’m using the SatNav. But I do like it as it helps me slow down a lot before using the brakes, if needed. I don’t use the fragrance as in either alone or with the dogs and don’t want the smell to overpower them. No range anxiety as it’s mostly used locally but sometimes on a long commute. There’s always enough power to return home. Only thing I’ve found is that on the closest rapid charger to me which is a 50kW charger, the car only draws 31kW when charging and it hasn’t been too cold here. Not sure why as the car is set to have maximum charging power and I usually charge it from 15% battery.

We have made a complaint to the leasing company about the price being paid with several thousands of pounds in missing specifications. Needless to say, they have been unhelpful so far in their responses to our queries and we’re about to take it further. MB of course have not been of any help either.

Other than all that, I am still happy with the car. It drives smoothly and is quiet. I’ll be taking it on a long drive to Nottinghamshire soon and will see how the trip goes with the range. I always have the music on but will probably only have the heated seats on as opposed to the climate control which is always on.

The park assist is hit and miss, doesn't always work for me. It is only supposed to find a spot between two cars however I have purposely passed one many times and it was still searching.

I have never actually used the park assist in any of my cars to be honest so cannot say if it is hit or miss at all. the kick opening for the boot works every time for me with just a gentle kick forward (not side to side) but you must have a key either in the car or, if on you, close to the boot but for me and my partner it is close to 100% success rate when the key is within the 1m range. If one or other of us is relying on the other for the key we have to remind the person with the key to get close enough to the car so it might be the hit or miss is all related to key positioning?
