Hi All

I would like some long term reviews or experience from EQC Owners.

Its been 4 months of back and forth with Mercedes Benz but no one has a clue on how to fix this error withMB EQC

Simply Put Mercedes is not ready for Electric vehicles - My Tesla 3 issues are fixed on the fly with no back and forth

1 Call and they fix the issues

Please see if anyone else has faced this problem

This is what happens when we try to start the vehicle - So saddened by the careless attitude of Benz Australia -

Not had any issues whatsoever and certainly nothing like this received car mid Sept. Not what you want to hear am sure as what you are experiencing is bad.
Cannot comment re Tesla but am sure someone somewhere has had a horrible experience like yours but that is beside the point you should not be experiencing this.
Stirkes me there is a software problem so I would expect my garage to take the car back and then work with mercedes germany to solve the issue.
Have you had the car taken to your mercedes dealership? What have your dealership or mercedes said about the issue?
Is it an intermittent problem if so any pattern as to what causes it? Or is it a one off car now dead event which you are trying to get sorted?
This is not good but nevertheless in this day and age of software being a fundamental of car operation it is surprising more issues of this kind do not arise and I am sure every manufacturer has issues along the way. I am only grateful they do not seem to use windows software the hours of my life wasted with that is depressing.
Do let us know how you get on and I hope it is resolved.

Yes. MB Sydney took the car twice to the service centre. First time they said they did a whole lot of s/w upgrade and issue should be resolved but they did not find the root cause. So I picked up the car from center and when I was taking it back issue happened so I called the center and they allocated a Rep to drive and see this live with me and he found the same issue happen. They kept the car with them for 1 week and said they couldn’t find the issue but they drove it for 50kms and refused to test and issue did not happen. But car is giving the same Acoustic indicator error and the issue happens. MB has no Engineer who ca troubleshoot the issue and they are reluctant to take help from MB Germany. I’m waiting for a response from them or else I’m planning to take it to Ombudsman. Thanks for the help. But money gone down the drain. I tried reaching out to MB Germany but they are of no help. They simply said contact you dealer. Worst of the worst.

Sounds to me you need to go to your ombudsman as the service you are getting is very poor. I can see the response from MB Germany to some degree as the dealers are the point of contact for customers then the country Mercedes set up ie Mercedes’ Australia have you contacted them?
When I got my car my dealership were totally open that whilst they had a trained technician (my car was the first they had sold after Mercedes’ agreeing they could) if there was a serious issue they would call on Mercedes’ Germany and that there were roving technicians to help. As time passes that will probably cease. In your case your dealership not wanting to contact Germany seems unacceptable.
Good luck and keep us advised.

Did you resolve your battery malfunction warning light on the dashboard? I have a similar problem with my EQC which is now two years old. Intermittently get the battery warning light showing up. The Mercedes dealership seem incapable of diagnosing the root cause. I left the car with them for over a week and still were unable to fully resolve the issue.

I’ve seen similar faults that have been caused by a small wiring loom shorting out on the body of the vehicle. The loom is located at the front left of the High Voltage battery, at the point the wiring loom goes into a grommet that feed it through the body.

Still awaiting investigation ... talk of it being a "power distribution unit" but can't seem to find what that would mean ...
The power distribution unit is basically a junction box with a couple of fuses inside. It distributes high voltage from the battery to the air conditioning compressor, battery coolant heater, interior heater and the 12v battery charger. (All high voltage)

I’ve replaced one both, along with the cable from the battery to the power distribution unit. It will have an Insulation fault. Easy fix if the part is available.

I have a Dec 2019 EQC 400, when I got it, it had 9000 miles it now has on 17000, so after driving it 8000 miles it gave me a Multifunction error on the dash and it finally stop driving, I manage to get it into my garage at home where it has been sitting for the last 5 month. It was driving beautifully and I really love the EQC. Unfortunately the dealer here don't have any one that knows about the EQC. At this point if I can not get a GURU to run a remote diagnostic online or come to Barbados to fix it, I will have to sell it as is to any one that wants it but they have to export it from Barbados and shipping is about U$1500

My 2021 EQC has developed a very similar issue, unable to enter drive, dashboard lit up with every warning symbol and when it does drive it usually pops up the large red battery error at random intervals. Currently at the dealership for the 4th time in 3 months. First time it was found to be a wiring fault under the front passenger floor, at the time the logs showed that sensors thought it had been in a collision but that was not the case. Second time the dealership said the issue was a short on the charging port so swapped that, third time no cause could be found but they put it down to cold weather after a month of having the car. Unfortunately its back in the garage again having stopped completely in relatively warm weather.

Each time the symptoms were the same, unable to enter drive, yellow HV battery symbol on the bottom left, red car symbol on the top right and every other light showing. Its also been logged with Mercedes Germany but they were unable to help.

I've driven about 13,000 miles from new before the fault developed in December 2022.

Will share if they make any progress with it.
