Ebay is listing a Mercedes EQS 450+ with an Msrp of $117,940.00 for $142,940.00 or best offer. That is a premium of $25,000.00!
This would be my 3rd Mercedes. In my opinion, you’ve got to be nuts to pay the premium, although I suppose that some people want it so badly, they’ll go for it. My dealer claims they have 3 build slots available for Jan/Feb. I refuse to pay a premium. I will make calls around the state and even neighboring states. Have you done same?

I talked to a Pinellas County dealer and they have a fully equipped EQS 580 pinnacle priced at 50,000 over Msrp. South Orlando dealer will place an order due in April at 10,000 over Msrp.
So could I assume that you’ve been calling around the state? Have you tried Lakeland and Gainesville? Wonder if all the dealers are sort of banding together and much of it depends on their allocation of builds.

I currently drive a Tesla S, but being a previous MB owner, providing the EQS has all I want, and then some, I’d order, but the premium doesn’t sit well with me.

I am discovering that the smaller dealers with low allocations and longer lead times (some over a year) are more willing to commit to lower premiums over msrp. Also, MBUX screen cars are more chip dependent and much harder to get than the the EQS models without the EQS feature.

I found a large dealership, not all that far from me, that WAS NOT charging a premium. Neither for in stock, or on its way, or custom build. I then contacted my local dealer, who initially wanted $15,000 premium, and they said they would do MSRP with no premium. So we did a configuration, and it turns out they had one, same color, same trim, with everything I would option for, and then some, in production and due in about 4-6 weeks. Already has a VIN assigned. So I placed my order today. This is for a 450.

If you’re interested in getting a 580, the dealership that I initially contacted (actually visited them yesterday) and was not charging a premium, has 8 on order. What I don’t know is if they’re being ordered for customers or inventory. Not sure exactly where you’re located, but I assume FL. I’d rather not put the dealer name here on a public forum, but if you want to know which dealership, send me a private message.

It’s Lakeland. They were telling me about 5-6 months. Told me I was the first 450 order, but did say they have eight 580s on order. I actually did place the build order with them, and while I was returning home, my local dealer called me and said he would do MSRP, having just gotten approval from GM because I’m a previous customer. The Lakeland deposit was fully refundable. Wanting to deal locally, I then did the same build configuration with my local dealer. Once completed, he said “wait a minute, I think we have one exactly like what you want, that’s already in production and scheduled for dealer inventory”. As I said, it has all I configured, minus the dashcam, and some other stuff I wouldn’t have ordered, but with the prospect of not having to wait months for a build, I went for it.

I’m a happy camper right now!! 😃

Sounds fantastic. Glad that worked out four you. Can you tell me if your current dealer is an Autonation dealership? If so since I purchased 5 previous cars from them, I would hope I could have similar clout. Thanks
