Has anyone got a ’range’ number on their navigation display? I haven’t used the navigation on my EQA for a while but I seem to remember it showing a ’range’ or a battery capacity figure on the screen. There are two buttons in the settings menus for toggling ‘range’ off and on but they are both supposed to be on and there’s no indication on the display. I tried toggling them off and switching off then restarting the car but still no ’range’. Has this been lost in an update maybe?

Maybe try entering a destination in MBUX navigation. And check smart/intelligent navigation is turned on in navigation advanced settings. Then some battery info will likely be shown for a predetermined route. Not sure if that is what you are after though or if it will be if any use for your purposes anyway though

Thanks for your response, I tried your suggestions but no luck. I’m starting to doubt my memory of seeing the information previously on the navigation view!! Turning the ‘range’ options in the menus on or off doesn’t seem to have any effect. The only way I can find to display a battery percentage figure is in the ‘EQ Energy flow’ view but it’s not easy to swap quickly between that and the navigation view. I know I can bring up the navigation display in between the dials on the dashboard and that seems to be my only option.
I like to use a combination of the battery percentage and the real time display of miles per kWh in the ‘consumption’ dial to judge my driving style when the battery is getting low as the two miles figures on the dash display are estimated on, (1) how you’ve been driving, and (2) a theoretical maximum.

I attach photo of a route calculated with Electric Intelligence in EQC but EQA has this intelligent routing too so I would be surprised if this Mbux nav battery icon is missing. It shows battery info for when arrive. Battery was 80% at time of photo but photo shows 77% advice of battery when reach nav destination.

But as this is not the information you have specifically requested, you could use the favorites toggle on steering wheel to quickly change from map view to the consumption view on the touchscreen if necessary, else ask Hey Mercedes about the battery percentage or other shortcut. In EQC consumption view has it's own physical button but not on EQA I understand however this favorites method can be used instead. Map view can be reached again by clicking map physical button or other shortcut

Another way I haven't tried might be to use a phone mount and Mercedes Me app to show the battery %.

This leaves the question of why it is so difficult to see battery percentage, surely the number one concern of the driver. I speculate that Mercedes do not want people to be trying to rely on percentage too much because traffic diversions or other circumstance like hilly terrain or motorway speed or even wind could cause a breakdown if try to cut it too fine. Which is why they only have the visual moon dial guidance especially if no destination set in nav. But I would be interested in other theories!

Thanks for your help, the photo shows exactly what I remembered from my own screen a while back (it wasn’t a figment of my imagination after all!!) trouble is I can’t replicate it now, I think there’s a fault in the system as I can set a route with Electric Intelligence turned on but I only get the ETA and distance info, the battery info is missing. If I tap the screen on the info box, shown in your photo, a box showing ’route overview’ appears and at the top it says it’s ‘calculating intelligent route’ with a rotating circle but it never completes the task.
I didn’t remember that it’s the charge remaining at destination that’s shown there so you’re right it’s not what I need anyway, however your other suggestions are certainly worth a try.
Your theory on the reason for the hard to see battery percentage is interesting, it does seem odd as all the other info on how far you can travel is either really vague or hypothetical and based on previous distance covered. Relying on the percentage figure on its own could certainly result in the problems you noted but my method ( combining it with the real time consumption dial numbets) maybe requires some mental arithmetic but at least I know how much I need to alter my driving to eke out the remaining charge.

If you are just getting a rotating circle it would be interesting what Mercedes Me support say. Or you could try different things first like see if all your services are activated in Mercedes Me, that the car has internet connectivity, login under a new profile etc.

I took the car to Mercedes Perth today and they recognised there was a fault but have never seen the problem before and have no idea yet how to fix it. I’ll try Mercedes Me support later.

I’ve succeeded in resolving the above problem, I contacted the dealer to confirm if my maps were up to date (the map in use was still the one installed when I got the car in October, V16.1 map E3 2021) as I wondered if that could be the cause of the issue, while I was awaiting their response I thought I would try switching various settings off and on one at a time. The first one to get a result was the Automatic Updates, when I switched it off and back on then went back to the Navigation screen and set a route, Electric Intelligence worked as it should. On returning to the Auto Updates screen there was a new map update (V17) being installed so it looks like Auto Updates hasn’t been working.
