I've seen 2 maybe 3 OTA software updates occur since December. But I dropped my unit at the dealership to take a look at some niggles ... nothing major, the main one being very slow media management.

Very good dealer interest and support. Left it there a day and in the hands of a motivated master tech.

It has come back and had any number of SW updates. What I did not realise is that they are by function and then major unit updates as well but that they are far from all notified on the app OTA.

I think from memory my unit had about 7 minor updates and two major ones including the MBUX itself which took 2 hours to apply. I forgot which was the 2nd major update ... also took a hefty time to do.

Is very much worth new EQS owners to follow up with their dealership on this. Even if just for the major MBUX update.... think it was v. 3.17

Car came back visibly different on dash. Can't say as I have explored the details but nav looks different, the speedo dash different and any number of small details.

These updates are not notified and have to be requested. I get the impression they are not done unless there is an issue raised. Worth to be aware of.

Geez...So you have to be diligent on a constant basis...MB has to change this model...
I got the strong impression that they take view, if it's working OK, don't chase the optional updates. The OTA ones they consider safe and well tested.

But I was surprised at the number they applied at workshop and the size of a couple of them.

In fairness I did have certain issues that I documented and raised with them .... some discussed in this forum..

I am of that mentality that if there's an update out there then I want it, even at the risk of an impact to service of function ... just my personality, I feel as though I'm missing out on something if I don't apply an update :) I suspect I'm not alone although some won't care at all.

I suppose most important is, did the updates address my issues. Have to confess I don't have a proper answer to that yet.

It would be great if we could find a definitive index of SW updates, what they do (less likely) and how to find SW versions of each of the sub systems on the car. Someone somewhere will know how to do that.

I agree that I would like to see an index of SW updates. In the USA, I have only had one OTA update since receiving my EQS 580 in August 2022, and that was just a map data update. Can you post the software version number that displays in the Info->Software screen of your car? In my car it is RL_NTG7_E316.505_22092AC3. I believe the 'E316' portion is the main identifier and I assume this just refers to the version of the 'main' user interface through MBUX??? And I suspect there are other sub-system software components for which we are unable to see any version info. In the USA, some users are reporting their cars are on software version E329, but I don't know how it differs from E316. Did any of the OTA updates change the version number in your Info->Software screen?

I just got a Map/GPS OTA update over the weekend.
I've had my EQ580 since June 2022, and to my knowledge have not had any updates (unless they're done automatically and without announcement). Mercedes Me and the car say that the car is up-to-date. I checked my map version and it is 2021 (V7.0) N. America @2022 HERE. It that the latest map version in the USA? Thanks, Ron
