A few weeks in now and in the main very impressed with the cabin and detailing.

But yesterday noticed that there is a section of chrome trim missing at the dash edge, at the arc around the top edge of the steering wheel area. Can't help but feel it spoils the aesthetic some and I cannot see any practical reason why it would be missing. Indeed is it just my unit that it's missing on

This is what I'm on about ... the glass simply stops at an unfinished edge.

Is that not by design ? If I look at the configurator on the Mercedes Portal it looks the same as your picture
Yes may well be but do you not think it looks cheap? And surely not so costly or challenging to have just completed the loop?

It's took me a couple of months to notice it so clearly not so huge a deal but just seems one of those details that an MB flagship should address. That said, if there is a solid reason why not to include it.

Possibly more visible to long-legged drivers? In that area the crumpled leatherette(?) visible when steering column, maybe pulled back by long legged drivers, could have been hidden by more of the steering column rigid plastic too it seems to me.

Yeah, it's far from a show stopper but just seemed unnecessary and almost more work to omit it than add it. I guess once you had a car a while you start to see more. It's still a very nicely crafted cabin otherwise.
