Hi Nick,
Not sure if this helps but I was told dealer side, that ordering AMG would nudge us up the wait list. This was a couple of months back. I nearly did that, but the cost for the gain was a little off putting so stuck with the 450+ Exec Lux with the big screen.
This was slated for December. Then out of the blue, we got word mid October that it's on the ferry and slated be here 24th. And today we saw it in the metal and it will be out front within the next three days.
Mercedes just does not seem have a clue on scheduling and expectation setting. In fairness, having got to be in touch with dealer in more detail during this time, it does very much appear they are out in the weeds on this as well.
How can it be that the expectation for the flagship model be pushed back in the way you are seeing and the more mainstream unit that we were told 'end of year' arrives roughly 2 months early? How can production and logistic schedules be so random? Even with the somewhat over used 'supply issues' caveat that seems be applied to any variable that occurs. I cannot help that that old chestnut is starting be somewhat over used now.
