Hi all, just interested in peoples waiting times for EQC in the UK.

I've ordered an EQC AMG Line and been told stock ETA is mid Sept 22 (3.5 months roughly).

I was expecting much worse having read reviews online.

Is the ETA date reliable? I'm going thru Lex Autolease who are ordering thru their dealer network.

3 to 3.5 mths is a fairly standard Mercedes’ del time pre chip shortage and Covid, ukraine war etc etc. I ordered in April 21 and it did not arrive until mid Sept 2 mths later than the original advised date so I think you might be wise to expect a couple of mths extra on that time given many of the issues are still not sorted and the new EQE is starting production as well that way you maybe pleasantly surprised!

Overall worth the wait? Ordered one without trying it first. Got an X3 M Sport Hybrid at the moment and i like it when its running on the battery. Which it does most of the time!

100%. I moved from a eclass 4matic e220d estate with airmatic so it felt a bit as if I was dropping a class and the EQC interior does not feel as luxury as even the estate did (I had the large full display screen) and it was an SUV whereas I much prefer the lower ride of an estate but I wanted to move to electric and on the test drive the EQC was very impressive. My dealer gave me an excellent deal and I can change in 18mths no penalty and was expecting to move to the EQE at launch. Currently there is no 4matic EQE which is a deal breaker for me as I live in the countryside and 4wheel drive is very useful in our wet muddy winters so I have not yet test driven one.
However the EQC has seduced me totally and I have decided I will keep it for the full 3 yrs, there is nothing I dislike apart from the typical SUV joggle which is much less noticeable than the GLK Forerunner to the GLC and not sold in the UK. It is my 5th Mercedes’ and the best. The e class was a lovely car and I had also specced the acoustic glass in that (standard in the EQC) but it still sufferred from more road vibration and noise. We have some fantastic well surfaced roads locally and the EQC is very quiet on them. No noticeable wind noise on the motorways either though you do hear if it is blustery outside more than you would in an ICE as the overall ambiant noise is less. Q I do miss being able to adjust the suspension especially for raising the height due to the nature of certain locations I visit so hope to get that facility back at some point perhaps when the new EQC arrives whenever that is. It may be my next choice if there is no estate EQE which at this stage seems very likely.
It is fast when pushed and overtaking is a joy, the handling is far better than say my 2007 e class but perhaps a sportier driver than me may not find it that good. Not sure how it will compare to a BMW X3 as BMW always seem to be liked more for their handling than a Mercedes’. My driving conditions are well suited to economy ie out of town low traffic 90k speeds few roundabouts etc and the economy is good I regularly achieve below WLTP on journeys. However I think in town driving with lots of stop start economy may be less good from what others write. My car with the factory towbar weighs 2555kg so it is really heavy.
Moving to MBUX was a breeze for me and it is better than previous Mercedes’ systems like comand but I only have Mercedes’ to compare it to. Internet in the car etc all work well.
Despite moving from the cavernous e class boot it has not caused any issues whereas the c class estate boot always felt a little small yet this must be similar as I still use the boot cover I bought for the c class and it is the same length and width but something is clearly different maybe the height. Friends find the rear very comfortable and indeed I have been surprised sat in the back how spacious it felt as good as the e class surprisingly.
It is just a mercedes electric car and I think they were right not to rush to market but to take their time to hone their first car to meet Mercedes’ customers expectations.
I am a classic Mercedes’ customer in that it is comfort first and foremost I look for but good driving charatersistics and an ability to deliver powerful acceleration are also on my list as is sophisticated safety and driver support systems which work as they should and in every respect this car meets those criteria yet at the same time feels so much better than any other Mercedes’ I have had or been in.
A glowing review but only mine and a car and how one feels about it is a very subjective matter. However if you search through all the reviews from when it was launched there was a regular theme that it was the most rounded quiet and luxurious electric car at the time. Whilst Tesla may indeed be the most software advanced and different with their interiors etc all video reviews show problems with cabin noise, not important to some but very important to me. Of course the EQC is not silent no electric car is due to the mere fact it is a large box moving through air on wheels and tyres bumping along the ground but the NVH has been handled very well with a lot of attention to the detail and that together with the effect of the battery in the floor seems to be the reason why it seems so much better than the e class which could generate the most dreadful road noise on bad surfaces yet be very quiet on good. the EQC is much more even though poor surfaces do raise the noise not to the crescendo levels other my other Mercedes’ did.
BMW X3 to a Mercedes is the classic swap one is sporty driver appeal the other comfort I hope you will find the EQC good I love it but I am a boring old Mercedes’ customer 😉 you will find it fast enough of that I am sure just the handling might not be as sharp if you drive you X3 in that way.
Just one final point I use Dauto all the time so the car sorts out level of regen etc and climate control as I would in any car and still get excellent economy. it does drop in winter as do all electric cars and indeed ICE so be prepared but with the pre warming system etc it is not burdensome. Do update when you have the car and what you think about it😉

That's worrying - that's what I've heard. Two people in my company cancelled orders due to the delivery date slipping to over a year....

Thanks Parkwood. A very thorough and informative reply. The X3 is a very nice car - but due to being a Hybrid it isnt particularly good at petrol or electric. Electric range is about 20 miles and the petrol efficiency is poor due to it being heavy and not very aerodynamic.

I've arranged a test drive on the EQC for this weekend so will reply with my first impression....

Have you had any updates on order lead time?

Colleague ordered an EQC via Lex in April, and was originally told October, now August.

Mine, also via Lex, ordered early June was originally December, now 31st October.

Lex assured me that the EQC was good in terms of lead times compared to many. Had an E-tron before, but the EQC is cheaper, and shorter lead times.

Hi, as i said before i have been waiting a long time now for delivery, i ordered my car in November last year from a company called GoFor Finance in Edinburgh, just like i have done on numerus occasions for my every day company car, I'm now at the stage of cancelling the order and that's why they have given me a loan of a GLC Hybrid to run around in as i sold on my Range Rover Velar in March, that was the first date i was given for delivery although it now changes three other times since that date. i understand from the dealer supplying the car that its components I.e. wiring loom we are waiting on as the car has been built, and is apparently on hold at the factory, i don't know if this is correct or not. the dealer is Inchcape MB, sorry i cant help anymore than that , fingers are crossed for hopefully September Delivery. jim miller

thanks for response- as much as any thing was interested in @sardev.singh1971 's details- given they're ordering from the same lease company as me. Wondering if the situation is that the EQC is easier for them to source than E-tron etc.

Hi, fingers crossed the current delivery date is still 27th October 2022. Its been 27th Oct for a few weeks now so hoping it wont get pushed back.

Mind you a colleague just turned up in a matt grey BMW i4 M-Sport M50 and that looks killer. Totally different car to the EQC but if the EQC keeps getting pushed back i'll order an i4 M50.

No - really annoyed with my local dealer. They've palmed me off onto a junior salesman who appears not to have the clout to arrange a test drive for me. Waiting for Merc to call me back so i can give them hell!

Been a customer of this dealership for over 6 years - but as company car driver - not a regular customer. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Hmmm not acceptable. Have to say my dealer is absolutely top but service is very important to the French. They brought me a car from 100km away and I had it 2 days. When spending the sort of money one does on a new car it is not acceptable to buy without a test drive.

Hello everyone raising issues of EQC delivery in Uk, personally I’ve not heard anything more about my car delivery and reading people replies is it possible that it’s dependent on the specifications of cars ordered, mine is an AMG premium with the added extra driving assistance package fitted, also I was told wiring loom parts they are waiting on, anyway I’m happy to hear some of you are being quoted August so fingers are crossed that might be achieved will let you guys know if I hear anything ATB Jim m

Hello I ordered EQC AMG line at the end of November 2021, at the time I was told by my local dealer it was currently an 8 month wait. Car was ordered through NHS fleet solutions, I have tried getting in touch with them to see how long it’s could be but they now say contact the manufacturer. I contacted my local dealer and they said they can’t give any times until they have been assigned to people.
So still in limbo with regards possible delivery times

Hello, my car was ordered same time as yourself November 2021, I am still waiting, however I just found out at the weekend, that 100 various Mercedes EQ vehicles have been sent to the St Andrews for the open Golf 2022 they are a mixture of EQA/B/C and V, I know the company that has been applying logo's for the Golf event on them, and have seen a photo of them all lined up, they are for Players/visitor and dignitaries being driven back and forth to St Andrews I am told, if that's the case no wonder our cars are delayed, i would rather that we were told the truth about the delay, and I will give them until end of August for a delivery date after that I'm canceling my order I've had enough, to long to wait.
Very Disappointed in Mercedes if this is correct. Bentley Boy Dundee Scotland
