Bought my first benz in 2007 (e class estate)combined 2 cars into one (an A3 and A4) as we were leaving the UK to live in France and only needed 1 car. The mercedes was a low milage car which had the load space. Not entirely happy with it noisier than expected and useless in snow but when it came time to change we saw a GLK in the showroom whilst the E was being serviced. As we had a RHD car in a LHD country we anticipated a bit more hassle in selling but the dealer actually offered to take it and put a good deal together, in the end however a friend bought it and it is still a daily driver with them! So started our relationship with the dealer and the brand, we moved to a c class estate much nicer than the GLK then back to an e class estate which I loved. Am now totally smitten with the EQC. It will take a lot to make me change from mercedes, my relationship with the dealer plus Mercedes values are mine comfort and luxury. I want a safe well thought through car made with highquality materials designed to be strong and robust. Every mercedes I have owned has looked like new when I have disposed of it. That could not be said of cheaper cars like Fords I have had however much I looked after them the same as the mercedes. The Audis were good too but sportiness is not what I crave. Over a VW the Audi’s are better finished but the mechanics let them down a bit as they are the same.
I had the luxury trim on the e class and might not have chosen the AMG line had I had a different option but it is all that is available here in France. The EQC is not a particuarly attractive car to look at but it is not too bad a bit like an e estate that has been inflated making it shorter but taller and rounder. I am very happy with it and in fact warmong to it more and more and missing my e class less and less and that is a real compliment!
