Why is the Digital Light on Road Image projection not allowed in the UK?

Another super function .... the ability to project No entry or pedestrian crossing images on road. But it's apparently not allowed in the UK. Anyone know why? Or if it's likely to come our way?

Apparently it's embedded in the car just not software unlocked for use due to UK law.

I think same is true for some of the slef park advanced functions.

Yes the self park on a road alongside the kerb was deactivated following new regulations because the mercedes systems did not comply I believe.
Did not relaise the new hazard projection warnings are switiched off in UK not sure about France…..

Yeah it's a little dispiriting to be buying these extra options or packs just to find that they do work but simply are not allowed in a specific territory.

Not I'm not sure about France. They did say (in the example I read) that it was UK regs. I should have kept and posted a copy of the article.

Actually I just looked up this up .... is an interesting read. Could it be that the EU are taking a progressive line on this area and we are constrained by the our island dwelling and minded Brexit government? It appears that way. ....

Sorry to say it would never surprise me if it is B related and the reason I suspect why mercedes does not offer their excellent eco coach appin the UK.
But having said that the EU regs never stopped countries having additional demands if they wanted and I do not think there is a europe wide child in car approach for exaample🤷‍♀️here children have to be a certain age to travel in the front seat.
I can see the UK going backwoards rapidly if it is Sun readers they are asking to define what regs to get rid of😤

I wish I could argue with the sentiment you make. it's very hard to find evidence that would support near anything good about B.

And wouldn't it just be another nail in the coffin for this ridiculous small island (or rather it's leadership, not it's people) to find that super crazy new functions in a new car that one works hard to afford, are blacklisted because of that broken relationship.

Sure there's always cross boundary specifics, it's what make us this mad bunch of crazy interesting people and countries. But it would be nice if the tech was allowed to flourish better and wider.
