Perhaps try in the app by pressing the car button on the top left corner, the scroll to manage users, perhaps then add a user? Your wife can then use her Mercedes Me app to form a new account and add the car that way? This is how we did it for my wife and it set things up with her own log in.

They are tied to the same MMe account in the back end. And, indeed when I use the web to log in to my MMe account, I can see my partner at the bottom of the page as an additional user.
With this setup, each of us can use our own MMe app to add our own profile photos, which are then uploaded to the car.

We have just gone through this in our EQC. In our previous car, a Jaguar, we only had 1 log in for my wife and I, it really annoyed us because we never got the settings right and we could never tailor it to each of us properly. The system wa a different and recognises the phone as you walked up to it, not by selecting an image on the screen like on the MBUX. So this time around we made sure we did it differently. Basically I made my own Mercedes Me account, then added my wife via her personal email to the account. This enabled to make her own Mercedes me account and be added to the vehicle. She can now add all the settings she wants via her own Mercedes me log in. The photo can be then changed by each user log in in the settings part of the my account on the app in the top right corner. I really am not sure how to do it when you only 1 log in for 2 users, and I am really unsure how the car distinguishes users and you add setting like that.

 

Thanks for sharing your experience, that's helpful stuff. It does seem that as Scott mentioned, that we did have two Me accounts .... the main one mine, with paying for charging, apps, purchases etc. But when we tried log in on the wife's email, it turns out it was there and had not been used. Most likely since the day we drove it out the dealership!

By logging into both, to my amazement, I did manage to get the pics attached and working. You can do it from the app. It turns out I just had to log out of mine, log into her (previously moribund account) and do the same process.

 

To change the photo of the second user profile, go to Settings > Users > Select the second user > Edit profile picture. If you're using a specific device or system, let us know for more detailed steps! Read more
