Vehicle Order Status Codes

After speaking with my dealer today to check on the status of my EQE SUV order, he sent me a screenshot from his system. I was wondering if there is a list of all of the status codes and what they mean. Also, what are the various build steps that the system will show?

Mine currently shows the following along with several other lines:

PRIMARY STATUS LF03 - FACTORY ORDER CONFIRMED
SECONDARY STATUS SA01 - ALLOCATED (WITH END CUST.)
Decade Planned23/11-1
Original Prod Decade23/11-1
Production Date11/01/2023
Dealer ETA
Factory StatusBOOKED SHIPMENT

What else can I expect to see regarding updates along the way? Are the production dates usually pretty close? He said a PO number would appear soon, but a VIN isn't assigned until it is built. I know with other vehicle manufacturers, the VIN is assigned once the build is scheduled.

Have you learned anything else about your order or the process? I ordered a car in August and it is set to deliver late next week. It took about a month for the production to start. I received a VIN number a couple days before that. They said production would take 4 days. Transportation is coming by train to California and is adding nearly a month post production. Hopefully this info helps you out.
Thanks for the info. I haven't really learned anything else, so this helps me out. The last time I checked with the dealer a few weeks ago, he said the production date had moved to November 9th. Assuming that it takes 4 days to build the car, and no more than a month to ship, I hope to get the car in mid-December. I believe that vehicles that are assembled east of the Mississippi River and shipped to eastern states (I'm in Michigan) are transported via truck instead of rail, so that should reduce the shipping time. I know that vehicles shipped from manufacturers in Tennessee and Kentucky to Michigan use trucks, so hopefully, with the EQE coming from Alabama, it will come via truck.

I now have my charger installed in the garage, so we are ready when it arrives. I hope to only use public chargers when on a road trip. My wife normally isn't excited about cars, but she has been telling her friends about the EQE and she has talked to me about charging and other features, so I think she is pretty excited about it. I think she is mostly excited about it being electric.

I received another update from the dealer today. I'm not sure how firm this info is, but amongst a few other codes, the status stated the following:

  • Production Date: 11/21. (it was originally 11/1 and then later moved to 11/9, so this was another shift)
  • On September 25th, there was a status of "Factory Decade Freeze" (hopefully this means that 11/21 won't move again, but I doubt it :) )
  • On October 17th, there was a status of "Factory Final Freeze - No Difference" (I think this means the order is locked in and cannot be changed)
  • Lastly, there was a change to "Factory Status" which now says "VEHPLANNED". Previously it said "BOOKED SHIPMMENT". I don't know if planned means that it is now firmly scheduled and parts are available?
I don't know if anyone has insight into these codes and what they mean. I'm really hoping the vehicle is delivered by the end of December as I suspect they will have some incentives since it is the end of the year and EV sales have really slowed down. Currently, they are offering 4.99% APR financing, but I was hoping for a cash rebate since I plan to buy the car and finance very little if any at all.
